I am writing concerning the Gratitude Training farce. This program is basically a "benevolent cult". I took part 1 and was very unnerved by some of the "techniques". There was one in which you were asked to go make eye contact with the "most attractive person" in the room. This is very dangerous. First only insecure people will fall for such a program. Second this "technique" is sure to be the prelude to sexual involvement. On guy that was in the program with me continued calling on the phone the 3 women that walked over to him. My ex girlfriend went through the entire program spending over $3000...lol...She also hooked up with a fellow cult member. This program gives people the false since that only they know how to live properly. In reality most members are involved in multilevel marketing businesses that rarely yield a meaningful profit. The problems this program helps you with can be solved on your own with a little drive and discipline. Whomever came up with this scheme must have sold timeshare in the past because they employ many of the same sales tactics. They let you in for a low priced part 1 then offer much higher priced part 2 and 3 after you have been acclimated to the group..There is a group frenzy to take an endless amount of self help workshops, etc. If I was a federal prosecuter I would invesigate this group. I have pictures in my computer where the cult members are wearing white robes with candles in the woods.. The group is VERY secrestive as well. People that pay for such classes are just demonstrating "Economic Darwinism"....people that spend their money this way will always be broke...

I'm taking part ML and the entire experience has been eye Opening becuz i choose to trust the process and I've seen a shift in my being, fears and my victim story in my head disappeared. My relationship with my dad has been mended and I have possibilities for open space to create from nothing. The only refund I have been told about is after part 1,2 you can write a letter within 24 hours and ask for your refund. If Jo has some other reasons she allows exceptions to her rule, she's the boss and you must align. What possibilities do you see when you surrounded to following rules? What works ? How is your life now? Do you have your 10 life? This is phenomenal work. I advise to take the entire curriculum and give the tools a try to use to transform your old habits into possibilities . The part of the course you haven't completed though paid for are transferred to a new time you are able to do it. Take the jump and commit again !

I am a graduate of these trainings and have had years of experience around the Gratitude Center and Jo Engelson. I have to say she is one of the most generous and fair buisness owners in this industry. She has on several occasions been willing to find solutions with me and other students to accomodate situations for people. She is consistent about trying to work things out with students even when in my opion she did not have to.
The trainings are about being responsible in our life and for those who do not finish and then go into judgment is like judging a movie without fully finsihing it to the end and getting what the whole story was about. The fact that Jo even offered this guy anything after the period of time he waited speaks more about the person doing this then Jo Engelson.
It is difficult being a buisness owner and one must deal with customers being unhappy. It is the nature of the position. I believe Jo handles situations with care and class each and every time.

As a graduate of the workshop, it always amazes me the people who ask for a refund on a program specifically designed to push you to your greatness and accept 100% responsibility for their lives and decisions. As far as I understand it and have asked others, the contract and intent of the program is that in order to qualify for a refund, you must complete the program. This encourages you to rise above your circumstances and live a life of leadership and responsibility to your word and commitments. For the owner to even offer any amount of refund to this policy is overly generous considering this. Transferring the money to another program to complete also seems more than generous too considering his circumstances got in the way.
For this person to claim discrimination against him and then extend it to his family is a weak attempt at gathering support for a situation he is refusing to take responsibility of. This in no way appears to be personal and the fact the owner is even offering any money as a refund clearly shows her good will intention.
Expenses to run the training have to be based on the amount of enrollees signed up and if they drop out, these expenses dont go away. All the stuff this person adds as evidence to justify a refund clearly shows that not only does he support the program, the entire family does too by enrolling 11 other people into it. All the rest of the drama filled interpretations of how the owner thinks, and taking peoples money reads like tabloid I pass every day in the supermarket. The fact this woman gets involved in local policy even when she cant vote shouts leader and visionary to me. She is trying to make a difference in this world by participating to the level she can to have the most effect. She isnt writing a victim story on how she feels discriminated and refuses to take responsibility for her decisions. She is part of the solution and not part of the powerless victim stance the writer appears to come from.

I am the owner of this company and the workshop and I wanted to share the facts of what happened in the case mentioned in the above complaint.
For Part 1 & Part 2 we have a full refund policy if the student finishes the workshops and did not get any value. In order to get this refund they will have to write us within 48 hours of completing Part 2.
For Part 3 - there is a no refund policy and when the students sign up they sign a commitment letter that clearly states their agreement to pay the tuition in full and they commit to attending ALL 4 required weekends in order to graduate.
The student above signed this letter and completed his full payment of $1400 online a few days later. After attending the program for over a month (it is a 3 month program) he chose to quit.
6 MONTHS later he contacted me demanding a refund.
He was very upset and I explained that the reason there is no refund is because they pay for the whole program up front and when they do, we hire trainers, book convention center and pay for the final weekend retreat center. I have never seen any educational institution refund a student when they quit mid-semester.
I even offered him $200 as a courtesy so that we could put this behind us.
If you read this and you have any questions please contact me.
