I hired Kelly Ayers Paint Co. on Jul5, 2002 to paint the exterior of my personal home in Sata Rosa, Ca. I was a painting contractor in this area for 17 years, and a painter for another 20 years as a union painter local #4 S.F., Ca., I had to hire a contractor to paint as chronic Asthma forced me from Inhaling paint fumes ever again. Kelly Ayers submitted a proposal and bid to apply two coats of paint to the complete exterior of my home.

I had to leave my home while being painted because of fumes that were making it very hard to breathe. The job called for exterior washing of house, shop, and carport.A coat of oil based primer was to be applied as the first coat.on all walls and trim which included back rolling all surfaces of all buildings mentioned.

When exterior was primed; all patching, caulking, and prep work including sanding and spot priming were to be done in a professional manner, by professional painters. It took an inordinate amount of time for the employees to achieve this task! Not being able to watch the progress of the work being done, apparently gave the green light to Kelly to take short cuts not provided for in our contract.

Personal family matters forced me to do extensive travelling back and forth to Indiana for three and one half years. As I wasn't home that much I couldn't and didn't anticipate the paint job failing as badly as it did. My wife works full time and didn't realize what was going on with the paint job either.

I couldn't know how extensive these short-cuts were until three and a half years later when the paint on all the trim started lifting and peeling. I called Kelly Ayers and asked him to come over to look at the damage the failing paint caused. He showed up about a week later and after inspecting the paint failures he stold me his work is only gaurenteed for 2 years. And if I wanted the problem solved to pay 3 hundred dollars a day, per man; plus material.

I asked him to reconsider, and asked him to "step-up to the plate"; to do what's right, and repair what he didn't do right in the first place;and he just

smiled and walked away.Me being a 100% disabled Veteran did not phase him

in the least.

Now I have to paint my house again; the exterior is in such disrepair! I paid Kelly Ayers $3,952.16 to paint my house; now I have to hire another contractor to re-paint my house after five years to the month. I have one bidfor $4800(more if I pick the material I want. )

It just doesn't seem right to pay almost $9,000(or more) to paint your house

twice in a five year period. As a painter and contractor I have never painted

anything twice;; Ever. I went to a house I painted 30 years ago, and besides needing a washing; there was no paint failure at all. I made recommendations to the home-owner as to what products to use, and how it should be applied!

The home-owner I'm talking about called me last week and said he had sold his house That I painted for him and it didn't need re-painting before it sold. I would like to see or know that other customers of Kelly Ayers painting are not being blatantly ripped off as I was.

As a retired California Painting Contractor Lic' , I know what it takes to do the job Right.

Thank You!

Daniel
