Kennedy-Western University Aka Kennedy-Western University Aka Warren National University REAL tuition, REAL coursework, BOGUS diploma. I want a tuition refund! Agoura Hills California
I work for a multinational and though I have 20+ years of experience, I need a BS degree if I want to go anywhere. I researched online universities until I found one that was (a) legit/accredited (b) affordable, and (c) had a good name. I had to work to get my company to accept a diploma from Kennedy-Western, but eventually, they approved and I enrolled.
Now the university has changed its name to ... "some guy in Kansas" University. The name change raised red flags with my employers, and the university is no longer on the company's list of approved universities. More importantly to me is the deep disappointment I felt when they changed their name. It is USELESS for me to have a degree from SGiK University!
As soon as I heard of the name change, and my company's reaction, I contact my counselor to ask if my diploma would be issued in the Kennedy-Western name or the new Warren National name. His response was vague and non-committal. I had to do my own research and learned the hard way that the "accreditation" represented to me was not recognized by any legitimate body - therefore, useless! Having clearly chosen this school for what I thought was a solid name and reputation, they had left me high and dry when that name changed. I requested a refund and received NO RESPONSE! There was nothing in my contact with them that said they were free to change the name of the university at will. Had I known this could happen, I *never* would have paid $6,000 tuition for a USELESS degree!!
My counselor gave only vague answers when I asked if my transcript and diploma would be in the old name or new. Eventually, I learned it would be the new name. Not what I signed on for! So now how do I get my money back?
