I worked for this company for 2 weeks and realized that they are using us trainers as pawns. They do not care about the trainers or the clients. They sell the client a training package for 12 months at $160 per month for 2 hours worth of training per month. When i went in and did not have anyone to train I would end up helping the sales people but found out that I did not get paid to do this. So if I was there for 4 hours and trained 2 peopl we as trainers would get $12 for those 4 hours. That is way below minimum wage.

My training manager has no idea what service to the customer is. He told me once he has them under a trianing contract he could care less if they ever worked out. One time he was standing in front of at least 30 people working out eating pasta with sauce and meatballs. A wopman went over and asked him if he was a trainer. He proudly stated he was the managing trainer. She then said that he should know even better to stand ther3e and eat the food they were not to eat. She further stated that he was not only rude but unprofessional.

I was training a woman who's bodyfat came up at 16% the managing trainer said with an a*s like that she had to be at least 26%. It was at that moment I understood the maturity he had was nonexistent. I told him then that I was done with LA Fitness.

People put their health in our hands (Personal Trainers). I feel we should take that as a great responsibilty and treat the client as such. It is obvious that L A Fitness should screen their managers even more.

The trainers at LA Fitness are very unprofessional. We go 5-6 days a week for a few hours a day and often overhear discussions amongst the trainers. One evening they were cracking jokes about an overweight woman in one of the aerobics classes. They said she looked like a whale flopping about every time she moved. They constantly make fun of the clients which is not only rude and unprofessional, but also a bit ridiculous considering most of the trainers are not in fantastic shape. The trainers at Allentown are no better. We rarely attend this club any longer but did workout there the other night. There were a bunch of guys screaming and cursing and generally causing discomfort amongst many of the members with their behavior. We thought they were some thugs who were in for a trial membership. A page comes across the intercom "Attention staff ..." and lo and behold, one of the thugs runs up behind the desk and picks up the phone. As it turns out, all 3 of them are staff members there. We were also ripped off by Earle "Skip" Pace at the Allentown club. He gave us the pricing when we signed up in writing - $25 for a single club, $35 for multi-club. He printed the contract after I paid and I noticed it said "Single club" even though I paid $35/mth for the multi club membership. He apologized, made a note on the contract that said "Multi" and initialed it. He promised within 5 days, the change would take effect. When the Easton club opened, we switched to working out there. I was then informed that our membership was listed as "Single." I showed them the contract and the GM, Jeff, told me he would et it sorted. It took a few weeks at least but Jeff did get it sorted by discussing the issue with the LA Fitness VP. Jeff has been nothing but helpful so there are no complaints about him. He did however tell me that "Skip" denied the entire story and said I "made the whole story up" and was "just some guy trying to get a freebie." Little did Skip know that I had a contract with his initials on it signaling the changes. I was tempted to pursue the issue and try to get Skip fired but I figured with the unprofessional and dishonest business practices that LA Fitness obviously encourages, they wouldn't give a d**n about a salesman ripping off some people on 2 memberships. LA Fitness is a great gym. However, they are indeed out to rip you off and their trainers are a joke. Just use the facilities and avoid 95% of the crooked staff and all will be well.
