I CALLED LA WEIGHTLOSS AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO COME IN. SINCE I HAD SEEN THEir ADVERTISEMENT ON TV, WENT IN AND THEY TELL YOU ABOUT THEIR PROGRAM. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED THEM, AM I OBLIGATED TO BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT WE WOULD DISCUSS THAT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE PART OF THE PROGRAM SHE TOLD ME ABOUT WAS ABOUT $500.00. THEN THEY GAVE ME THE WELCOME PACKAGE AND WENT HOME. AFTER 2 DAYS, I GO BACK TO LA WEIGHTLOSS AND THEY TELL ME THAT I AM OBLIGATED TO BUY THEIR PROTEIN BARS (LA LITES)!!! I WAS FURIOUS!!! I WANTED TO QUIT THE PROGRAM RIGHT THEN AND THERE!!! I CALLED THEM ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER AND ASKED IF THERE WAS A WAY FOR ME TO CANCEL THE PROGRAM. (AT THIS POINT, I JUST FELT CHEATED AND HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AT THE WHOLE PROCESS) THEY SAID NO CAN DO. NOW I AM REALLY, REALLY, UPSET THAT THERE IS NO WAY OF CANCELlING THE PROGRAM AND NOW I HAVE TO PAY ABOUT $1,500.00 FOR THE WHOLE PROGRAM. (THEY OBLIGATE YOU TO BUY THEIR PROTEIN BARS FOR 1 YEAR, WHICH IN MY CASE CAME OUT TO BE $1000.00)!!! (THE SUPPLEMENTS IS HOW LA WEIGHLOSS MAKES THEIR MONEY) I JUST FEEL, IF THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT THE 1 YEAR OBLIGATION TO BUYING THEIR PROTEIN BARS, I WOULD HAVE NEVER, EVER SIGNED UP ON THEIR PROGRAM. TO ME THEY FALSIFY THEIR ADVERTISEMENT TV AND DEFINeTELY LIED ABOUT THE UPFRONT COSTS.

Just for the future, make sure that you get all your questions answered before committing to purchase anything. If the salesperson avoids your question or skates around it, be wary and DO NOT purchase anything. If the company is legit, they will be happy to answer your questions. Also, make sure to read any paperwork before signing. I can certainly understand your not wanting to continue with reporting this, however, you are doing others a disservice by not doing so. Only by reporting these scammers, can we put them out of business.

I feel your pain. Luckily I was never sucked into a scheme like this. I have health issues associated with being born premature. My tendons are not well forms and most of my joints where the bones fit it are not formed correctly, thus my shoulders and hips come out of socket very easily. I am anemic and have a high red blood cell count so a lot of diets can or will not work for me. All you need to do is get a good book on diets (nothing that states loose 10 pounds in a day or any fad diets) and exercise a little bit. The healthy amount of weight to loose is about 5 pounds a month in my book, I currently cut down on my sugars and I take herbs. ( echinacea and goldenseal), I eat until I am full and no more and I eat slowly. ( did you know it takes your brain 10 minutes to register you are full?) and I am progressively loosing weight. Go to your local herbalist shop and speak to a person there. They will be able to help you very much at about 5% of the cost. Of programs such as the ones you were on. Goldenseal cleans out your system and promotes a healthy immune system. When I first started I took about 12 goldenseal a day but you only do this for a week. This gets your body cleaned out of most impurities that make you feel laggy. Now I am down to about 4 a day. Echinacea is a mucus membrane booster. (healthy colon = healthy body) A good bottle of goldenseal costs about 20 dollars a bottle for 200 pills. A good bottle of Echinacea is about 10 dollars for 200 pills. Make sure you are getting the good stuff. Remember the lower the price the more diluted the product is. I also take Relacore. The reason I take this is to get the vitamin intake. It does reduce stress like the commercial says. I do not take the daily dosage of 6 pills a day, I usually take two in the morning and one in the afternoon. So a bottle of 90 lasts me a wile. It has 555% of your daily vitamin C 334% of your vitamin b1 294% of your b2 850% of your vitamin b6 55% of your b12 and many others. Just check the box. I do not do any heavy exercising because of my problems. Depending on where you need the help is what you need to do. Personally my belly is my problem since I make sure to walk at least 10 minutes a day and I work with my arms. I bought a product called The Bean I got it off QVC for 60 dollars shipping and all. it's a very low impact exercise ball that has a scoop in it to hug your back. The work out is only 7 minutes for the abdominal area. The DVD also has a pilaties work out as well. I hope this helps you out. Please keep us posting on your progress and I wish you the best of luck in your goals. Sincerely-

In many of the written material including the contract you signed, it states that L.A.Lites (protien bars) are only an option. Even if you were verbally told otherwise, you were given plenty of written material which explains that it is possible to do the program without the bars. We have many clients who are medically ineligable to do the Lites and are still on our program and doing fantastic. I suggest you go back to the center and speak with the manager about a plan which you do not have to take the Lites, and begin your weightloss.

I DECIDED NOT TO LAUNCH A RIP OFF COMPLAINT AGAINST LA WEIGHLOSS BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORTH THE EFFORTS IN TRYING TO GET MY MONEY BACK. IT HAS BEEN A LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY.
