LARRY MILLER PONTIAC Larry Miller Auto Mall SWITCH AND BAIT PLUS UNETHICAL SALES TACTICS Boise Idaho
I accompanied my sister to Larry Miller auto mall at 233 auto mall drive in Boise to purchase a new car. She asked to purchase a new car but was sold a used 2005 G6. She was told that her credit warranted a 16% loan but there would be no down payment.
She signed the first contract. She was called back a couple of days later. The dealership said they had a better deal. It was 14% loan and still no down payment.
The payments went from $520 down to $490. My sister explained she had got financing from another lender at a lower interest rate.
They bullied her until she signed another contract. She asked if the other contract was voided and they said yes. She asked if it was a done deal and they said yes. She went and registered the car.
An hour after she had registered the car the dealership called and said the bank reguired a $500 down. She told them she didn't have the $500 so the dealership said they would have to revert back to the 16% loan after they had told her that that contract was null and void. They also said she had to sign another third contract saying that she would pay $500 down.
I asked why they had changed the contract and the manager said that was the only way to get it approved through the bank. She kept changing her story and said that she would process it with no down payment then she said she would have to use the other contract that was supposed to be voided. She also said if my sister did not sign again she would have to take the first higher contract.
My sister asked for 24 hours to have an attorney look at the contract before she signed because she had already signed two other contracts and they said the could use either. They said if she left the car lot without signing the third contract they would push the first higher contract through.
They also demanded that she leave a copy of her ATM card so they could process a $500 dollar down payment on her next payday. The salesmans said they would give my sister a $700 gift card and then Ms Brown said no they would cut her a $700 check. She said okay and signed the contract.
Then Mrs. Seng came out and said they could not give her a check but would give her a $700 gift card because it was illegal. My sister was treated very badly after the first contract.
I will never go to Larry Miller and will tell all my friends and family about the underhanded deceitful practices. How can this car dealership remain in business with this kind of treatment. Can they in fact have contract after contract and then chose which one to submit after saying that the others were null and void. Is this legal? The car will cost my sister $35,000 and it isn't all that. She could have gotten much more car and much better service some place else. If it's Larry Miller beware because they will get you. They do not care about making their customers happy it is all about making the dollars.
