as a former maintenance technician for lobos let me tell you some things. first, i worked for them for about 1 year and during that time i had 3, yes i said 3, paychecks bounce. they did take care of it the following week, but come on, paychecks should never bounce, especially from a company that owns hundreds of buildings.
second, as a maintenance tech, i would go on a repair call and i would have to buy the supplies that i needed to make repairs and turn in receipts at the end of the month.
sometimes i would have as much as a couple thousand dollars on my credit card by the end of the month. i was responsible for around 200 apartments at several different buildings and it would take 2-3 weeks to get my money back. also, they would NOT pay the interest rate i would incur because of the supplies i would buy for THEIR apartments. i did this for about 8 months and after finally having enough i told my boss i would no longer buy the stuff myself.
we had a maintenance shop in one of the buildings and that the company should start buying the stuff and having it on hand when needed. i was fired a month later.
during the time i worked there, on several occasions i called my boss to tell him what materials i needed to fix issues in apartments. if the material was gonna cost to much i was told to just do what i could to temporarily fix the problem.
also, they dont care about their tenants at all, i remember one young lady coming to me and telling me that she was active duty army and was being sent to iraq and needed to know what to do about her apartment since she just signed a one year lease the previous month, i called my boss right away and he told me to tell her to get him a copy of her orders and he would take care of it, no problem. well there was a problem.
she left as she said she was going to. my boss did contact lori sobol with the ladies orders and lori's response was to wait about 2 months and then take the lady to court for eviction and non payment of rent. i know this to be true because my boss, who usually went to the court couldnt make it, so he sent me there. i couldnt believe what lori was saying to the judge.
she told him she had no idea where the tenant was or why she wasnt at court that day, all the time knowing the tenant was in iraq. this is the type of people running this company. lori is also a lawyer, if she doesnt care about lying to a judge do you really think she wont lie to YOU??
