I first learned about Better Trades through an infomercial where they were claiming you could retire early by trading in the stock market without the help of expensive stock brokers in less than 2 years and that it was simple to do but that you needed to attend a seminar scheduled soon thereafter. Since I was looking for a vehicle to make my money grow I fell on their trap and called the number and enrolled in the free seminar.

There at the seminar the fellow speaking said he had made a lot of money in the stock market and that he had been an ordained minister, that God put him in this world to help people. He was very convincing and using the name of Jesus did me in.

He said that in order to be successful in the sock market one must attend the 2 day seminar and that the first 3 people to sign up would get a $1000 discount and only pay $2995 for the 2 day seminar where you will find out how to be successful in the stock market. This guy was selling the 2day seminar pretty hard and even threw in a money back guarantee.

If you do not make your $2995 in 6 months that you get 3 times that amount back. You could not beat that so I gave in and signed up for the 2 day seminar which you had to pay all of it upfront with a credit card. No time to think about it.

At the 2 day seminar, the pace is frantic and options in the stock market is the main course. At this course they tell you that it is not as easy as you think but you can be 90% accurate selecting options. That options trading is the secret to retire early. That you could actually go after the 2 day seminar and become successful but if you bought the required tools you would get there much faster.

The instructor here mentioned that he was blessed and that Jesus helped him become successful. By God, I wanted to be successful too so I got the required tools for $5,005.00. Now I am in the hole $8,000.00 and all I got at the 2 day seminar was 14 DVD's which were just a recorded two day seminar by the boss, Freddie Ricks.

Gosh, I was so excited after that seminar. They really pump you up. They indicated they had a faculty of adjunct professors that will teach different techniques in the internet. I signed up for a bunch of 1 hour classes and all they try to get you to do is to get you to attend their seminars for upwards of $2,500.00 per 1 day class. They rationalize the price with the fact that it is a small price to pay compared to all the knowledge you will have and all the money you will make.

I opened an account with OptionsXpress with $5000.00. I listened to Darlene Nelson say that she was bullish on the QQQQ's and I followed her lead. Just on that tip and in only 2 months I lost about $4,500.00 of the $5000.00. Just to think that I was planning on getting my whole Roth IRA and my SEP-IRA and put it with OptionsXpress. It was in the works. I was able to awaken from the trance they put me in and stopped everything.

This company is not only a fraud but a company taking advantage of hard working people and senior citizens trying to build a nest egg faster. My Friend, listen to me, I have learned the hard way, Options trading is the wrong way to build a nest egg. Put your hard earned money with a good mutual fund. No one can predict how stocks will go, not even the adjunct profesors of Better Trades. One day you may win another you may lose. This is like gambling. I never gambled before but I almost lost my shirt with this venture.

Too many variables determine the direction of stocks for an ordinary person to make it with a 2 day course. That's why Better Trades wants to get you in. Get a taste, get hooked, lose money in the stock market then lose some more by taking classes from the so called adjunct professors proclaiming how you can make it big only if you pay their fees. But hurry...sign up for the classes right away so you can get your discount...not!!!

I asked for my money back and they told me to trade for 6 months. I am $8000.00 in the hole in my credit card and I already lost about $4500 in trading. How much more do they want me to lose. I may post this in the San Antonio Express news so that others know about Better Trades.

Stay away from this one. They talk about Jesus in their seminars but I feel they are evil.

also, the first payment shows up on your card as "Better Trades, inc" but all of the ones after that are random words and numbers...that proves they are scammers so just watch out for that

i guess i should have known better than to sign up for something on an infomercial... they claimed to offer a free trial and only needed the credit card number for authorization.. 2 weeks later i had been charged $19.99, i called the number listed on their website and the customer service person i talked to said that the charges would be removed within 2-3 business days.. a week later, i get charged again!! this went on from july until a week ago, i had to cancel my credit card just to get them to stop charging it
