I used to be a member in the 80s and early 90s (the one I belonged to has since closed). Back then it was extremely cheap even for its day. Most of the staff seemed like they would rather be anywhere else, but a few were real gems and very caring. They did give us an orientation, so I knew how to use the equipment. I chose the classes that I liked that were given by competent instructors. All I really needed was a basic place with a few good classes and some work out equipment. Recently I thought about joining up again, but it sounds like it has gotten out of control. Have you looked at the website? Either it hasn't been updated in years or they are still implying on purpose that Lucille Roberts herself is STILL ALIVE when in fact she passed on a couple of years ago. Her demise may be the key to the alarmingly uncaring attitude in the home office. Maybe I'll just go to Jazzercize...
