We are currently being scammed by a couple named Lynn Torres or "summer torres" or summer aguilar, summer aguilar torres, and husband is rene torres. She has also spelled her name a couple different ways: "torres", "toress" and "torress".
She called me and wanted to rent our home, but said she needed to move in asap, so i took her word on the fact that she would send the deposit and lease asap. I am usually a good judge of character, and she was extremely friendly, and seemed very sincere, and sweet. (Dont let her fool you!) They moved in, and kept saying that they mailed a money order (we dont live in Colorado anymore and arent local to them!), but we never received anything...ever. They kept saying its been mailed and also said they would transfer money, and wire money etc. Her email: [email protected] is someone named "laura Hill" that she claimed was her grandmother. She has called a couple times, bue usually will onyl text. Her number is a pre-paid phone: 562-201-4567.
They kept having excuses as to why the money wasnt coming through, and it was always an issue with the banks etc. We still havent received a dime, and are owed over $6k. Do NOT allow someone to rent your home without getting everything from them first! SHe also has still not provided an ID, only her "husband" rene torres's ID. Its a california ID, with a Henderson, NV address. She drives a PT silver cruiser convertible with CO plates, and he drives a big light-colored truck with CA plates.
"Lynn" is about 5'3", brunette, overweight, and rene is about 5'8", scary looking, also very overweight. I have a picture of both of them. They also have dogs.
They also claimed to have just moved from Vail, CO and her husband's contracting job had changed to Colorado Springs. She claims to be a website and graphic designer, yet doesnt have a website for her own company. (right).
Again, she is the sweetest, friendliest, tries to really get to know u on a friend level, etc, so please be super careful!
I hope writing this will help someone to not make the same mistake!
