It figures! It's the take-your-money-and-run con. There are a million variations. Basically you pay in advance for something that ends a short time later. I can't see a way to recover your fee. After 6 months, they cashed the check or charged the card. Not much chance of reversing it now. You had the right idea. You were nervous about paying. It's a shame you decided to go through with it. Next time, stick with a large chain. Of course, you could still lose. If the Denver location closes, where are you going to go? Pueblo? I don't think so! If a sauna is a big deal to you, consider buying a used one and putting it in your home. Used, these things aren't worth much. You almost have to give them away to get rid of them. Or, buy a bathtub insert. That's a super cheap way to go. As for exercise, the best thing you can do is plain old walking. Hell, you're in Denver. It doesn't get much better than that. In addition, you could invest in a set of weights for home use. In the long run, something at home is far more likely to be used on a regular basis. And, just think, you'll never need to share it with anyone but your husband. Not so at the gym. Make your next investment in something that you will own and use frequently.
