Meadows Homes Of Mcninnville ripoff poor construction, poor service, and poor customer service and false advertisment McMinnville Tennessee
On Oct 20, 2003 my husband and I purchased a new 2004 anniversary Heritage edition Modular One home from Meadows homes in McMinnville. This is a 32x76 ft home with drywall. Since delivery of this home we have had nothing but broblems.
The home is riddled with cosmetic flaws from poor construction in the factory. I have been in contact with the lot service coordinator, lot sales rep, lot manager, company consumer service rep, company VP, and Owner of Meadows homes. The sales rep. and lot manager have been onsite twice to inspect and record all the flaws/damages in our home. The VP has made one trip to our home to inspect it.
I called the home office in Cookeville and spoke to Ms. Patty Shields who the BBB has listed as their consumer service rep and I was promissed by her that she would return my call, but I have yet to hear from her.
I have made phone call after phone call and my husband and I both have gone to the lot and tried to get answers. We have sent the Owner Donnie Meadows a registured letter, but have yet to hear back from him.
When they placed the home onsite they left 4 cracked blocks on the foundation which I found after making an inspection under the home. They have replaced them, but there are other issues with the block that have not been repaired.
The home was delivered on Oct, 25, 2003. It was delivered in two pieces. The two halfs do not join together flush and have a large gap at the top where the two halfs do not meet. I was told by the VP that this was normal.
We have seen a total of three work crews in and out of our home trying to make necessary repairs, but to date the home still has not been completely fixed. The first work crew brought their dog into our new home and allowed it to run free within the home (the home was still empty). The second crew smoked inside our new home and dumped ashes on the floor, and the third crew damaged my wood floors, a rug, sofa cover, walls, trim, table cloth, carpets, and matress. They used a gas powered drywall texture sprayer which oversprayed onto my items. The only thing they have done to correct this is sent a cleanup crew to wipe off the trim, cabinets, can lights, and chandeler. The floor is still damaged and none of my items have been replaced or cleaned.
The master bath shower had not been calked from the factory so after we moved in and used it we discovered it leaked after our 12 year old used it. It flooded the master bath and we were on our hands and knees soaking water up. They sent a crew that was supose to caulk it, but it still leaks.
This home was advertised as having Sherwin Williams paint throughout. The second set of workmen they sent told me that the only thing on my walls is Primer. According to Sherwin Williams their paint and primer are not the same thing. The VP at Meadows says they are the same thing.
I have not listed all the problems we have had with our home since it would take up so much space.
This home is riddled in flaws and based on our personal experience with Meadows homes we would not recommend them to anyone. We were just able to move into our home on December 20, 2003. The home still needs repaired, but we have made two house payments and felt it was time to move in. I am still trying to get someone to finish the repiars.
