Meeker Real Estate,Inc., is owned by Steve Meeker, an Illinois licensed Real Estate Broker.  He resides in the State of Indiana, but own and operate two real estate offices. One in Calumet City, and a second one in Lansing, Illinois. This company advertises real estate for sale on their website as well as post signs on properties for sale. This company advertises their office listings, bank owned properties and MLS listings.

They advertise homes for sale on the Multiple Listing Service that indicate "No-Termite", "No-Survey" and "Non-Disclosures". This is a sign that they may be hiding something from un-wary buyers who may not know how to search the Recorder's records for liens, clouds on titles, encumbrances on real estate.  Now properties listed as Meeker Real Estate company listings do not indicate "Non-Disclosures" at all.

Nor are their advertised properties with "Non-Discloures" listed as bank owned properties. This means that the Broker, Steve Meeker, is using the MLS to sell some of his listings that may have servious title issues that a buyer could get stuck with if they pay cash for a property and are not protected by a title policy and have no attorney. One MLS property listing, #08185525, located at:  841  E  152nd Street, Phoenix, Illinois, has an unpaid lien for $100,000.00.  It also has two recent conveyance of deeds. The last deed recorded by Federal National Mortgage is frivolous, because the owner/grantor recorded a conveyance of their deed to a grantee/owner prior to.  This means that the previous owner of the property no longer had legal interest in the property, therefore, having no interest to convey anything to them. Broker Steve Meeker must very well know about this property's title issues, but decided to list it for sale as "Non-Disclosure" anyway.  He does not care who he hurts or rob and is looking for a victim that can hand over a down payment of $10,000.00 on this property for sale at $49,900.00, and finance $39,900.0, through one of his hook-up mortgage brokerage companies. The down payment $10,000.00, will up front pay his commission fee from 6% -8%, $6,000.00- $8,000.00., the remainding balance will pay loan officers fees.  The buyer will close on the property, likely without an attorney, and inherit a legal battle down the road.  Later when they go back to Broker Steve Meeker, he will say, "You agreed", You signed the contract".  Whenever a real estate broker does not disclose what they reasonably should know, it's because they want to play dumb and make a quick profit off a fool!  Steve Meeker is targeting first time home buyers in ethnic communities.  I believe that there is a Non-Disclosure law in Illinois to protect consumers.  I am considering a complaint to the proper authorities to make Broker Steve Meeker remove the fraud from his website and from the websites of co-conspirators, Coldwell Banker and Centry-21, Realty in Illinois. Word to the wise.   Buyer Beware!

First off, I have never heard of Meeker real estate until today. I have no idea whether they're an ethical company or if they're unethical. But I think you're report is very unfair towards them. Do you have any clue what you're talking about? Anyone and I mean anyone, that buys a home without running a title search, has no business doing real estate! Any liens on a property will show up on a title search. IF it doesn't for some strange reason, you should always insure the title, so non disclosures mean nothing. If there's a lien on the property after it's purchased, the title insurance takes care of the lien. That's why people buy the insurance! I don't care if the buyer is paying cash or financing the property. Running a title search is NOT an option. If a buyer doesn't run it and insure the title, they need to get out of the business now. So what is it that Meeker is doing wrong? I don't understand why you filed the report. It makes no sense to me. In my opinion, you're giving them a bad name for no valid reason. Shame on you!
