This "ripoff" site should not lead with a bad report dated 2007.
My entire experience with Metric from 8/1-4/11 was very positive. We had an emergency break-down at around 5p on Monday. They took time and care in dealing with us, even tho they were closing down. They also took time to give me good advise on towing, lodging & dining options. The next day they squeezed us into their very busy schedule. Turned-out it was going to be better to haul our car back home, which they helped me arrange to do, too.
The two women who staff the front desk were awesome. Linda especially was sharp and resourceful. And with her ton of years working there, she knew her stuff all around. The other gal even offered to give me a ride back to my hotel.
These folks stored my car AT NO CHARGE for an extra couple of days until I could arrange to get back to their town and pick it up.
So whoever reads these things shouldn't let one guys rant deter you from working with Metric Motors. Their service was top-rate!

I'm sure we must have gone to different repair shops. Or maybe I wasn't doing a friend and owner of a competitive repair shop a "favor" by going to Metric Motors and then writing such a horrible review. I think mister "jb U.S.A." forgot to mention his mom in a wheelchair, wife with cancer and the apple pie getting cold on the window sill. My experience with Metric Motors was STELLAR! I arrived unannounced in a tow truck with what I thought was a blown timing belt on my 90 Acura. A "Linda" called to tell me it was the rotor inside the distributor cap had fallen off. Total bill $72.00 instead of the major $$$s that I had fretted. Then I told her I forgot to mention that my Mickey Moused job of a trailer hitch install was literally falling apart. She had her mechanics put it back up on the hoist and did a SUPER job. Total price: $132.00 I was SO HAPPY. When I told her I was going to go Online and write a 5-star report she told me about this crazy person's rant. If (when) any of my vehicles ever break down again, I hope I'm within the 100 mile tow range of my AAA card so I can go back to my new "FAVORITE auto repair shop" P.S. Did I mention that we were towing an empty 4x6 foot flatbed trailer that they let me store up against the fence while the work was being done? THEY ROCK!

I see customers like you on a montly basis. What is it? Is there a school on how to cheat on mechanics? When we take update classes, we are warned about cases just like the one you had. You are not the first one who wanted to get his car fixed for free, then once failed, cried about how bad mechanics are, mentioning family or relative troubles....poor little you. As you found...the tune up did not fix your existing problem. Note to everyone: Do not suggest repairs to mechanics. Just explain whats going on , when , at what speed and so on. Of course you pissed the guy off, b/c you were trying to suggest/connect the problem with his repair. you should have done it the first time you got there. P.S." I live in MD and have nothing to do with the shop in question."
