Carfax reports only show incidents that were filed as claims through insurance companies. If they car was wrecked and the previous owner paid out of pocket to fix it, it might not show up on a Carfax report. That is a much more believeable scenario than the one you are trying to paint. If the wreck was not on the Carfax report and the previous owner did not diclose it to the dealership...they MIGHT honestly not have known... not saying this is what happened, but its possible...
