Mossberg Shotgun defective shotgun Recall red tape rip-off
Mossberg made a defective shotgun and recalled it. I have never had to go through so much red tape before in my life. I have sent and received numerous emails and called 3 hotlines trying to get instructions on what to do to have the defective shotgun repaired and returned to a safe condition. I was given different phone numbers to call each time and felt that i received nothing more than THE RUN AROUND. As the owner of the shotgun, this process has been more than it's worth to me. I would not recommend anyone purchasing a shotgun from Mossberg because of their poor customer service in correcting a defective weapon that, if malfunctioned prior to my knowledge of the recall, could have taken me from my wife and children.

I bought a 12 gauge Pump action riot MOSSBERG shotgun with the standard factory blue finish and i put an extended magazine on it and it was small enough to carry in the patrol car BUT after the first time I shot it, the barrell kept RUSTING. I had it reblued and i had all sorts of finishes put on that barrell including parkerized but the rust spread and RUINED THE SHOTGUN.( I had the same problem with a damned German-made Walther PPK/S .380 backup gun which I also unloaded...) I asked the Mossberg company for help resolving the problem like maybe a new shotgun or at least a barrell but they told me **** *** , rather gave me the one middle finger acknowledgment and finally after about an entire series of calls and letters, probably most of which were ignored or trashed, they told me to take it up with the dealer who by that time was OUT OF BUSINESS AND WHEREABOUTS UNKNOWN. I chalked it up as an expensive lesson and I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A REMINGTON RIOT GUN, HAD IT CUT OWN TO BE LEGAL AND STILL FIT IN THE SMALLER PATROL CARS AND I NEVER,EVER MISS A CHANCE TO TELL PEOPLE WHOSE LIVES DEPEND UPON THEIR FIREARMS -- ESPECIALLY SHOTGUNS -- ABOUT THE "WONDERFUL" Moss berg I USED TO KNOW... I talk to criminal justice students, other officers in my continuing education classes and seminars, and all over the INTERNET! Did I forget to say that the safety did NOT work and the least little thing would cause it to chamber and fire. People told me it was haunted but I took the black spray can to it and got rid of it to a pawn shop somewhere. When you work K9s you cant risk your best friend and partner killed or hurt by an accidental discharge. I DON'T CARRY ANYTHING BUT REMINGTON 870 PUMP RIOT WITH EXTENDED MAGAZINE ANYMORE. MOSSBERG IS A JOKE! At least my "LETHAL WEAPON" was...

I had also had bad expierence with mossberg the first time i shot it, it blew up in the barrell. Almost blew my hand off I brought it to the courts attention and there was 2 other previous cases about the same thing but because MOSSBERG is millionaires and im not there lawyer is better than mine and i will have to pay ALOT OF $$ if i lose the case like the 2 previous cases. I just wanted to get some information together to build something up. Supposively im getting a new shotgun but i havnt yet I am very frustrated with this because I TOO almost lost my life do to shooting a brand new gun and its hard to think that This #1 home defense weapon almost took me away from my wife and kid.
