Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have submitted two rebates to MSI, and had as many denied. The first was my fault, because I submitted a packing list instead of an invoice. However, the current one is why I am posting.

I followed all instructions, making sure to submit an invoice. I check the status a few months later, and am told that the invoice I submitted is invalid, and resubmissions are not allowed.

The reason the invoice is invalid is because it does not say "processed" on it, and apparently that means they have no way of knowing if I paid or not. I always use the same invoice for every other rebate, and this is the first time I've heard this. Every other company seems to find this invoice sufficient.

Nowhere in the terms did it say this. However, they provided me with these "internal" terms:

Under our rebate condition 1D: Order Statue not accepted. The end-user customer's invoice is used as proof of purchase. Invoice must show that you purchased the eligible MSI product at a retail price between rebate promotion valid dates. Handwritten invoice will not be accepted. All invoices must have invoice number to be process. No order confirmation or packing list will be accepted as substitute for invoice. If you have any question, contact vendor for valid invoice.

That was not present on the original rebate form. A customer would have no way of knowing this, so if you submit a rebate to MSI, it's highly likely that it will be rejected for this reason.

I currently have emails out to MSI's rebate center, MSI's sales department, and ZipZoomFly, which is the retailer I made the purchase at. This story isn't over yet, and I really hope for a positive conclusion, as I really like MSI products.

I'll post any developments here for future reference by anyone going though the same situation.

ZipZoomFly today told me that MSI will not honor the rebate. I've now contacted the BBB to see if they are able to do anything. No matter what happens, this is the last time I order something with a rebate from MSI, because I cannot be sure that I will get it.
