The article from Dr. Levine estimating people wearing seat belts have a 70 per cent greater chance for injury or death appeared in the Toronto Star newspaper in 1990. The estimate was based on a study conducted in Manitoba from 1982 to 1989 using police reports, medical examiner records. I located this information in the Social Issues Resource Service found in the public library. However, after the Superior Court Judge ,Bowen, ruled in my favor 1995 in Wake County (Raleigh) NC, this source and others became unavailable. Even more dis- heartening is the fact the ruling I have in my possession from Judge Bowen stating I was and still am "not guilty" is the only evidence that I even appeared in court to challenge the illegal legislation! The Statistical Abstract of the U.S. in 1990 (Found in most public libraries) indicates 46,300 fatalities on the highway nationwide. 7,400 of these were pedestrians who stepped into the highway. How would a seat belt protect a pedestrian? Motorcycle accidents accounted for 1,000 deaths. A seat belt will not help on a motorcycle. 600 deaths were train related. This shows how government officials "overinflate" the statistics for their own benefit to justify their salaries. Government officials play on the emotions of the public to hide the actual intent: to slowly remove our Costitutional Freedoms and control the public's private rights. October 26,1994 Mr. Ivory Lee Jones was impaled by the steering column in his vehicle because the seat belt restricted his movement preventing him from laying in the seat or moving to the right. Mayo clinic 1994 Feb 69(2): 187-8 The heading "Posttraumatic cervical dystonia manifesting as isolated spasm of the middle scalene muscle" dealing with neck injuries among belted and unbelted occupants of the front seats of cars. Also, AJR-Am-J-Roentgenol, 1991 Jul; 157(1): 111-4 title being "Safety belt injuries in children with lap belt ecchymosis. According to the Washington Post National Weekly Edition, Feb. 8-14, 1988, pp.31+; litigation for cases of personal injury and death increase proportionately as the use of seat belts and shoulder restraints increases. Am-J-Dis-Child, 1989 Nov; 143(11): 1317-21 Title "Injuries among 4-9 year old restrained motor vehicle occupants by seat location and crash impact site". The information listed here is only the "tip of the iceberg" that I have collected since 1995 and continue to take to court to challenge the illegal legislation. I will continue to collect more evidence from all sources including personal testimonials from people who lost loved ones due to the seat belt rupturing the gall bladder or spleen, severing the liver or heart, the shoulder harness cutting the throat, decapitating the head, or cutting the entire body in half. Your so called "extensive research" must not be very extensive since I continue to find more information daily of people injured and killed by the seat belt shoulder harness apparatus! The public can remain apathetic and let government officials continue to remove our Constitutional Freedoms piecemeal, or remove all those in power at the ballot box and put in place mandatory term limits to prevent anyone dictating to others what they can or cannot do in their private lives!

I performed an exhaustive search for any studies showing that seat belts actually cause more injuries than they prevent and cannot find a single one. As near as I can tell, there is no such thing as the "Fatality Analysis Researh Service," although there is a Fatality Analysis Reporting System operated by the NHTSA. According to the NHTSA, the use of seat belts reduces a person's chance of dying in a traffic accident by 45%, and the chance of severe injury by 45%. I don't know where you came up with these alleged reports, but it seems like you probably made them up. If they exist, could you direct us to them so that we may judge their validity for ourselves?
