Newark Beth Isreal Hospital - Livingstom Medical Center These hospitals will not hire you Newark, Livingston, New Jersey
For a couple of months now i've been emailing and filling out applications to Beth Isreal Hospital in Newark, NJ and Livingston Medical Center in Livingston. NJ. There I applied for jobs like File Clerk, Housekeeping, clerk, Admitting, and none of them asked for too much if not at all, any heavy experience or anything like that. Ok, so time went by, no one called me for interview or anything. and even in the past still no one would call me for a Hospital job. I hate that because you are wasting your time applying to these jobs that are posted online. And it;s true that you must know someone that works there in order to get hired. That bull because then what is the point posting ads on the website if they are not going to hire you or even call?!! I'm a student and i'm studying Health Services Administration in NJ. I want a job, any job wether it be housekeeping , or basic clerk, I just wanted to put my foot in the hospital. I'll even work on the bottom and work my way up even if i do have my degree. But what's the darn point applying to these hospitals. to me it's just phony. They might as well eliminate the ads all together and just pass on the job offers to their current employees and ask if they're momma need a job. So don't waste your time applying unless you know someone real close in any hospital even these two.

Sorry original poster, but I worked for Saint Barnabas from 2008 to 2009, specifically Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and I did not have any friends who worked there, or at any other Saint Barnabas location, nor was I related to any employees of the company.
Before a job is posted on the Saint Barnabas career site, it is posted at various job kiosks throughout the hospital or medical facility in question and if it is not filled by an existing Saint Barnabas employee, it is then posted on the career site for the general public to apply.
Do you really expect to be called/hired for every single job you apply for? The fact that the positions you applied for don't require any specific experience does not make a difference, if ten people applied for the same job, including yourself, and one of those people has previous experience doing that job, 9 times out of 10, they will be chosen over you. They do not interview every person who applies for a single job, if they feel you are suited, they will call you. My other question is, are you BLS for Healthcare Providers certified? Every single person who works in any hospital, doing any job for Saint Barnabas (and many other hospital systems), whether it is a housekeeper or biller must be BLS certified. If you aren't, that's probably why they didn't call you. I suggest if you plan on working in healthcare you get yourself certified, it's a 4 to 8 hour class depending on where you take it that costs between $80 and $100, do a Google search for training centers where you live. On the other hand, maybe you didn't fill out the application clearly and completely, did you include a professional resume? Did you include a professional cover letter? The Saint Barnabas career site gives you the opportunity to include all of these things on your online application.
And on another note, I really don't know why you posted this or why it was approved in the first place. Saint Barnabas did not rip you off because they didn't contact you for an interview or offer you a job. Keep looking elsewhere, eventually somewhere will hire you, but Saint Barnabas apparently isn't interested in your skills or qualifications.
