Number 1 Discount Tax Return Service, LLC Phantom e-file company promises to contact you, but never does Internet
I discovered this site through the IRS website list of companies that offer free filing. Because it was listed by the Federal Government, I thought this site was reputable. I follwed along and plugged in all the necessary information for my fed and also the state taxes for the additional $19.95.
When all was completed, I received their e-file confirmation stating my return would be filed with the IRS within 24 hours. I filed my return on 2/2/2010 and per the IRS website as of 3/2/2010, there is NO information regarding my return. The IRS site advises to call them for additional information.
Because of this, I tried logging on to #1 Discount's website, but I had forgotten my password. It didn't matter because I requested my login to be sent to my e-mail address TWICE, but still have not received it. I then sent an e-mail to an Oscar Mitchell at the administrator e-mail address, but I'm anticipating no response.
I have since discovered the IRS no longer lists this company for free filing.
