My Wife and I live live Durham, North Carolina. We went to Oakwood Homes looking for our first new home ever. We were pre-approved for a credit loan.

We saw a home that we liked very must. And was tolded by oakwood that the home could fit on our lot in Durham. they told us that they will take care of all the permits needed in Durham Country. My Family And I lived in a single wide trailer with an added family family, bedroom, and basement.

we were tolded by Oakwood that they would comdemn the old place, and soon after the building would start. They promised that the new home would be finished in 3 months. The salesperson that we origianlly dealt is now gone from that place. His name was Kenny. When went thru diffent salesperson, ask question, no one could help. the sales manager at that time was name is Klye give me the run-around.

Now we are dealing with a new saleperson, and a new sales manager who have been there for only a couple of weeks. We found out that the home we applied for we can't get because of a zoning law in Durham North Carlina. Before founding that out, the contractor for Oakwood homes gave us a call and told us to move out of the home which we was living in for years. Because his workers was coming to comdemn the old home, so we all packed all of our things in boxes, place them in a rented storage unit. Later, we called them back and told them that we were ready to go.

So, we were asked to call the gas company, eletric comany, and cable, etc. so the power would be off for the tarrying of our home. Within two day prior to our moving out, the workers came and destroyed our home. It tooked them four days to finished. I seen them put one dump truck load of dirt in the base area, but after that no more dirty. It has been weeks no more work was done on our propety.

They said trees were surposed to come down, but they are still there. the ground where to basement use to be is soft to the touch. Later we found out that the home we wanted we couldn't get. I asked the sales manager. "Why? what problem was they haven. I was told that the new home we wanted was to big for our Lot in Durham.

Now we have to settle for a smaller home. I asked the manager what went wrong? Why could you not find out what the measurement was first before you knock down our only home. He told me later that the Guy working for them called the City of Durham first, and was told that our home had to come down first in order to get a measurement for the new home.

so I called the zoing office here in Durham, they told me that Oakwood was wrong about the information giving to me. Durham zoning said, "measurements could have been giving without knocking down our home. Now we have no home, Oakwood is giving us the run around. We can't get answer to our question. What can we do? Please I don't want to be rip-off like this. Now my family and I have no where to live. Our HOME is gone. If you can help us in any kind of way please do so. They want us to close on the home in two-weeks. but, how can we close if there is no home to close on. who can I turn to for help?

I have 4 kids, my wife and I, but no home. Why would people like Oakwood do this to us. I work hard, My wife works hard. We only want the best for our kids, but now our own dreams are crushed. Will we have problem in the furture with oakwood? Will they turn their back on us when defects occur in the home. Who can I stop this before it happen? What will happen if we

lose on this house before it is built. What can we Do.
