I too have OCWEN, and I am also a single Mother, so our home and our finances are extremely high on the priority list. I went through a divorce and HUD took over my mortgage in 1994 while I went back to school and got back on my feet. My payments were lowered TEMPORARILY. I was told by HUD that I would just have this added to my loan at the end of my existing 30 year term. I would resume full payments in 1997, but this time they were to OCWEN. I have been threatened Foreclosure at LEAST 3-4 times since then. Attorney fees, late fees, etc. My payments were made on time too. EXCEPT for when my home caught on fire in 1997. I was forced by HUD and OCWEN to have homeowners Insurance on my home. They had placed it for me at their rate. I could never get a breakdown of my payments regarding this or a breakdown for any other reason for that matter. Well, the Fire Chief on the call (a friend) had called to let them know I had a fire and the extent of the damage. They told him I had none. HUH!?? I specifically remember the conversation regarding them forcing me to take theirs because they said it was a "LAW". That I had to have it if I did not provide my own. I could not find a rate low enoughfor my budget or quick enough for them, so they added it. I was told that it was automatic. When I called after the fire to inquire about the insurance; I was told by 3 different people that I did in fact have it and they showed it on their screen. In the end, I just could not fight them on this. I was drained and so very tired trying to figure out what to do about our home. The damage was approx. $30,000. Needless to say, you never win with them and I have gotten some help to re-build. I was late while I was re-building, not to mention the fact that I was furious at them for hounding me DAILY, several times a day to pay them or they will take the home. I finally told them to go ahead and take the burnt out house. I gave every black, smokey detail. I have not lost my home, but I constantly fight with them to keep it, even though I have been making my payments on time. I have even started sending them theough a 3rd party by certified mail just to have a witness for over 2.5 years now. There's so much more to tell, but please find your Own Insurance!!!! They're stealing even MORE money from you now. Good Luck to you.
