Omni Lending Group Ripoff to the MAX Middletown Rhode Island
This Company (Omni Lending Group) makes promises that it will not keep. I was contacted via phone by JoAnne Childers who was a "loan officer" with Omni Lending Group. She asked if I was still in need of a loan for $15,000. Of course I jumped right in and was immediately hooked by her verbal representation of the loan term and interest rate (7%).
When I went over the paperwork everything seemed OK. I even checked with the BBB who gave them an A rating and stated on their site no complaints against the company.
Of course since my credit is not great I was was more than happy to pay a collateral payment of 15% that would be repaid to me after 6 months of satisfactory payments. Of course after that payment was made she said that there was some additional negative information that had popped up on the computer that said the loan could not be done as originally set up without an additional $1,600 + dollar insurance payment. Red flags went up than which should of come up immediately sooner but I was anxious to start a small business and doing something with my life after over 20 years in service and taking up space with an 80% service connected disability for another 15 years.
Now there are no phone calls returned. No one answers the phone, either from "customer service" or JoAnne Childers. Now I am out of the $2,250 that I had to get from my family for the so-called promissory note. What an idiot! Falling for a major ripoff/scam scheme.
I relied on the BBB, verbal presentation, fancy letterhead and did not check out the business closely enough.
