I had received a bill from Palisades Collection and AT&T for $2,672.00 for a wireless cellphone bill. I called the company to ask what was going on and they said that if I went ahead and paid them the money in full then it wouldnt affect my credit rating and then said that they would do me a "favor" and knock the bill down 50% but only if I paid that day. I told them that I didnt have 2,672 dollars or even half of that then they agreed to let me make monthly payments with a 400.00 down payment then 200.00 a month until the bill was paid in full. They then said that i could make 100.00 payments until the bill was paid. I did have a cellphone with AT&T but cancelled it about 3 years ago. Now all-of-a-sudden I have a bill in the amount of $2,672.00? Oh and the two phone calls a day are lovely as well. I have to screen my calls now through my answering machine and the messages say "...it is in your best intrest to call me TODAY" and "...this IS the FINALY demand" I have NO idea what is going on, but I did ask to get a bill from them explaining WHEN, WHERE, To WHOM, Time Frame and Cost of each call is. This is without a doubt the weirdest thing I've seen.
