My sister helped me to buy a 2000 Mazda thru the Credit Union, We had it for 10 months. They money to pay for the car was supposed to automatically come out from my account. That was done on my request.

The bank never paid the money and kept telling me that everything was okay for the entire time I kept checking with them.

I told them I did not see where they were taking the money from my account and they would pretend to do research and told me everytime it was being paid. For the entire 10 months no payments were made, they never sent a late notice, or tried to contact my sister, they had all the correct information and finally they took the car and reposessed it.

When I went to the branch the employee who always helped me said he would take care of it and again verified to me that all the notes and information to take the money were there and it should have been taken out.

He also checked that for the entire time, my account had never been below double the cost of the vehicle, he said he would take care of everything.

When i came back 2 days later to check, he said he could not help and gave me a number to call the collection department, he said he was sorry, but he could do absolutely nothing because my sisters account had been closed off delinquent.

The bank employees tell me since it has gone to collection it is out of their jurisdiction, I have left messages from the bottom all the way to the president of the branches and also to the collection departments all the way to the president, and i never got a single call back.

The collection departments tells me they cannot give me information because the car was in my sister's name and ask me to have her call, when she calls they tell her the money was coming out of an account that she does not have any access to and tell her for me to call.

On several occassions the collection employees and supervisors refuse to speak to me and insult me or hang up. They refuse to speak to us regarding the incident and now they want $5,000 more than the cost of the original loan. The loan was for about $10,000 and now they are requesting over $15,000 and they say it is going to continue accruing interest. They send my sister a notice they would sell the car at auction and charge transaction fees for everything from late payments, repo fees and also storage all the way thru the sell.

PLEASE DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEIR EMPLOYEES LACK PROFESSIONALISM AND THEY CANNOT ACCEPT WHEN THEY HAVE MADE A MISTAKE OR EVEN TRY TO FIX IT. NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND MY SISTER HAS A REPOSSESSION AND WILL PROBABLY END UP PAYING FOR A VEHICLE WE WERE NOT ABLE TO KEEP.

Patelco Credit Union and CITIBANK are crooks!

My credit union was acquired by Patelco last year. Since then, we've had nothing but problems with our online accounts. In September, my checking account was low and I could not transfer anymore money from my savings account due to federal law of only six cross account or overdraft transfers per month. Since I had money in my savings, I went to a CITIBANK ATM and took out money from my savings account. I checked my online account every day and the available balance from the savings was lower by the amount that I withdrew but the transaction didn't show up in my savings account online register.

After about a week, I checked my account again and CITIBANK had taken the money out of my checking account instead of my savings and this  caused me to be overdrawn. In incurred a $28 late fee and immediately called my bank. The teller named Teresa told me that she was familiar with CITIBANK and other ATM's misprocessing withdraws and advised me that she would reverse the NSF fee.

A few days ago, my account was overdrawn by two transactions; one for 8 cents and one for $1.99. Each of these transactions cost $28 EACH. When I called to ask  if these unreasonable  charges could be waived, I was told NO because I already had a one time courtesy NSF reversal. I was transferred to a manager who verified that what I told him was correct and he concurred, even said he had the power to reverse the charges but REFUSED to do so.

Two issues here: 1.CITIBANK's mistake caused me an NSF fee due to their error by withdrawing from the wrong account.

2.Why the hell should ANYBODY have to pay $56.00 for $2.07 overage? The manager was extremely discourteous and I reminded him that we are their customers and they are their to service us because it is a CREDIT UNION. He refused to comply before my phone dropped the call.

I don't know if I should get an attorney but I am extremely pissed!

Patelco has been wonderful

My husband and I have had a loan with Patelco for 2 1/2 years now and I am really not understanding the issue that you've had. They have been absolutely wonderful to us. Even when we were in a tough financial spot and could not pay on our loan for 3 MONTHS they made arrangements with us. They have never claimed that we owed them anything other than the truth and they have been more than fair with us. Our interest is amazing low as well as our payments. The only thing that was a hassle was changing our address with them- That was quite annoying. But as far as everything else goes, I really don't think that the whole story is being told. Patelco has been great to us and I strongly believe that they are probably just as great to everyone else.
