Dear Complainer, My heart goes out to you and I know what it is like to be hound for a bill that you don't owe. Just don't sit around complainting about what Portfolio Recovery is taking from you. Take Back From Them! Get a lawyer and get the judgement vacated. Take their money. You have more power than you think. So, stop being a Victim and be a Victor. If you want your money back, then take it back. Get a lawyer and fight back. Stop letting Portfolio Recovery steal your money, your health and your peace of mind. You have the power to change your situation and only you can take the first step. Be Proactive! Report Potfolio lawyers to your Local State Bar. I have heard good things about the National Association of Consumer Advocates. Start with them and make your life livable again. And for your bank account, that they are illegally stealing money from, closed it and get a new one. Never, ever give out your banking or credit card information to any debt collector and don't talk to them over the phone. Communicate only by Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested. If you must answer the phone, let them know right away that you are recording the call. If they refuse to be recorded, hang up on them. Take your power back from them and enjoy doing it. Also, seek the assistance of your Attorney General and the Congress reps. that you voted for. They are there to help you, and will, if you ask. I personally know that if you write to Senator Dianne Feinstein and ask for help, she will help you. God Bless and take care of yourself. Julia
