Professional Transportation., Inc. pays Ohio drivers and office workers unfairly because most drivers and office workers are paid less than minimum wage on Average. As a current PTI driver who once worked as a the Cincinnati Assistant Branch Manager I have worked 12 hour 7 day schedules and sometimes 24 hour 7 day schedules covering vacations of managers and when the managers were being replaced for one reason or another.
As the Assistant Branch Manager I was paid $275 weekly then received a raise to $300 weekly by Keith Miller (Regional Manager) but then was reduced back down to $200 weekly because I was informed by Mr. Earl Witton (General Manager) that none of his Assistants were paid more than $200 weekly. I was responsible for covering the business phone calls as well as after-hours calls in order to cover trips and yard shifts that could not be dispatched. I was also expected to cover trips that could not be dispatched or covered.
Full time drivers are required to be on call for 12 hours shifts while only being paid if dispatched. There are days that drivers can sit and not even get a trip and therefore make nothing for a 12 hour shift. Recently OTR drivers have been changed to PTI drivers and are now required to work both OTR and yard shifts that need covered. Which they are now able to force over the road (OTR) drivers to take shorter trips and then be forced to the end of the line which by the time a driver gets a second trip their time has now expired and is unable to take another trip.
