I began working for this company on October 23 of this year. I gained employment by responding to an ad on Craigslist. Like with all prospective employers, I first checked them out through the Better Business Bureau and then I went to the website to get information.

Once I saw that they had a good bbb rating and that they have been around for awhile, I figured that it was ok to go ahead and pursue a career with them.

Okay, let me fast forward a little to make my complaint; first off during orientation, there was no mention of how much we would be getting paid. As a matter of fact, it wasn't until I ask the question that we discovered that the pay was $0.196 per mile....what the hell! 20 cents per mile and that is only when you have a trip, there is know real hourly wage...the only time you get paid hourly is during training and if you accumulate 60 minutes of wait time.

Anyway, we went through the handbook rather quickly and there was never any real book training on how to properly execute your duties; instead you we were put with someone who has been with the company for little over a year who gave us what I like to call "crash course training"!

The person who was giving us the training could only speak of the negative things about the company. Now at first she was doing a good job of explaining the ins and outs, then she just went in a totally different direction.

There was no assigned manager for the region of the company that I worked for, so they had another manager running his region along with the one I worked for.

There was no organization and on top of that...I have not received my pay!!

I think that at a time where people are actively looking for work, to many companies are taking a nonchalant approach to the way that they are handling their employees concerns and complaints.

I for one am a person who has nothing but the greatest intentions on doing my best to represent the employer that I work for, with the highest level of integrity and loyalty; but when a person has to experience something like this, where is the motivation for them to want them to do their best to represent the company.

I would not recommend anyone who is looking for employment in the transportation field in the Washington, DC metro area, to apply for a job with PTI!! They are unorganized and you have to be on call for 12 hours without any guaranteed work...remember without a run you don't get paid!
