To all my Friends and family,
Beware of Quibids! I am pretty careful with these type of sites and I never expected to get something for nothing, but I thought I would find something I needed and try to win it cheap with the idea that I could buy it at the end for retail using the “Buy it now” option. This option allows you to purchase the item if you lose minus what you already bid… LIARS! I purchased voucher bids using this option (paying the full .60 cents per bid) and when I used them in this other auction and lost they gave me zero value for those bids. This is totally misleading and they do not make it known up front. Here is my conversation with customer service. Never, never, never go to this site!
Thank you for choosing QuiBids. A representative will be with you shortly.
You are now chatting with 'Corbin'
Corbin: Hello, thank you for contacting QuiBids! My name is Corbin! How can I help you today?
Jon Caffery: A612693577 I lost 83 bids on this auction and I had every intention of buying now why is it 24.00 to buy I spent way more than that how can this happen?
Jon Caffery: I never saw the buy it now less than 13.00
Jon Caffery: It went up!
Corbin: The buy now was not fully discounted for your 83 bids because 61 of those bids were voucher bids.
Jon Caffery: Yes but I paid for those too
Jon Caffery: I did buy it now on those
Corbin: Any bids obtained from an auction will be voucher bids, regardless of whether or not the buy now is used.
Jon Caffery: I paid full price this is a scam
Jon Caffery: You site said you don't lose your money if you buy it now and I just did...! CLOSE MY ACCOUNT
Corbin: The following statement can be found in the Description section of every Voucher Bids auction:
Corbin: Unlike the Real Bids you purchase at the Bid Store, Voucher Bids are not eligible for a refund, and nor may you use them toward an item’s Buy Now price. Voucher Bids also carry an expiration date (they’re valid for nine months in this case), which you can monitor by checking your Bid Credit History.
Jon Caffery: I feel you have stolen from me
Jon Caffery: This was completely misleading I want a supervisor.
Corbin: I apologize but a supervisor is not currently in the office. One will be here on Monday if you'd like to contact us then. Our phone number is 1-855-QUI-BIDS (1-855-784-2437). Our representatives are available to answer your questions Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm CST.
Jon Caffery: What are you able to do?
Corbin: Unfortunately I am not able to alter the buy now price for the 83 total bids placed in this auction because only 22 of those bids were real bids. However, I have credited 20 bids to your account for the confusion.
Jon Caffery: Send me the cable
Corbin: In order to have the cable shipped, you will need to pay the $23.79 buy now price.
Jon Caffery: The bids have no value you just told me that why would I take that...
Jon Caffery: I have a better idea... Close my acount and I will pay Quibids back 100 fold with all 3000 of my Facebook friends and everyone I have a chance to tell what a scam and ripoff your company really is.
Corbin: Your account has been deactivated per your request.
Jon Caffery: Bad news travels fast my friend you better start looking for a new job because this is not how you treat customers and stay in business.
Corbin: I'm sorry you feel this way. Unfortunately I was unable to fulfill your request to ship the item to you because there was a balance due on that item. If you wish to receive the item, you will need to pay the buy now price in order to have it shipped.
Jon Caffery: I am cutting and pasting this conversation to Facebook... have a nice day.

You are absolutely correct that Quibids and all the other penny 'auctions' are absolute 100% ripoffs.
However, there are so many suckers out there that you won't be able to make a dent in their business. I don't understand why they are legal but apparently they are.
I encourage everyone to please read the rules very carefully or better yet, avoid all of them like the plague they are.
They are almost, but not quite, as low as psychics.
