I met with the Quicktrip rep (Ken ---) he inventoried all of my household goods and furniture. I was given a quote based on 12,000lbs @ .32 cents a lb at a cost of $3,840 plus $1,000 for packing all of my goods for the move to Meadville, PA.

The movers arrived on April 6th for delivery to PA on April 21st. When the truck didn't arrive at the scheduled time on the 21st I called the office in GA. The owner Jeremy came on the phone , he became extremely rude and told me there was no gaurantee that the furniture would be there, (they had 15 day's to schedule. I had moved out of my condo prior to the 21st obviously expecting my furniture on the 21st.

Jeremy had his dispatcher call back and said the furniture would be delivered 2 days later on Sunday the 23rd at noon, the truck arrived at 4:30pm.

After the unloading was completed, we found out there were several items missing. The driver called his office and they told him (conveniently)they couldn't get everything on that truck, they would send the remaining items next week.

The items did arrive on April 29th, again there were several items still missing. I called once again on May 1st and spoke to the dispatcher (Al) he refused to give me his last name.

He said he would call me back (he didn't) I called him, he said they could not find the missing item's and I would have to file a claim for the missing item's and the numerous items that were damaged.

I was given copies of the weight scale tickets which showed my goods only weighed approx 7500lbs not the 12,000 I was charged for. The difference in the weight equates to me being overcharged by $1,440.

When I called and spoke to Al, he told me I was charged for cubic feet not weight. My rep Ken ---- specifically told me moving companies cannot charge you by cubic feet, he said "That's how these companies rip-you-off" Quicktrip charges you by the weight and if the weight is less than quoted they will reimburse you.

I am still waiting for the damage and lost claims report to be sent to me and the reimbursement for being overcharged on the weight.

Since you are required to put a deposit on your credit card and then asked to sign a form that you will not do a chargeback on the card and then required to pay the balance due before the truck is unloaded, I don't see how you can defend yourself with this company. They are aware of their bad business practices but will deny them and are not honest with their interaction with the unhappy clients. The CEO, Jeremy, has stated that I was trying to blackmail him with emails and threats and since neither is true, he may be exposing himself to liable charges which I am currently investigating.

Jeremy, Do you always offer to mail out forms with your customer's name and home address to anyone who asks for them, even complete strangers? Would you like it if I posted your home address and phone number here for all to see? If this was a binding estimate, why was the truck weighed and copies of the weight ticket handed over? I don't thin your driver would ahve gone out of his way to lost time stopped at a weigh station if he did not have to. I am curious if Ken agrees that the contract says "Binding" on it. Ken, please write a letter outlining your move, including this info on the weigh discrepancy. If you want, include the statement that Jeremy just said, offering to send your contract to anyone who asks to look at it. Include a photocopy of the contract. End with a statement that you are requesting an immediate refund of the amount you were overcharged, the $1440, via a certified check. Mail it to Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Attorney General of GA, and to Quick Trip.

To whom it may concern. 1) Our customer Ken received a binding estimate for is move from GA to PA. That means the quote that he received from us will not be changed due to increasing or decreasing in the weight amount this is According US DOT regulation. You may check this at www.safersys.org 2) About the delivery time, we did not guarantee Mr., Ken a specific day, we told verbally and in writing that it will take 1 to 7 days from the day that is ready to receive is shipment. He received it within 2 days. If anyone would like I can send you the contract so you can see it for yourself Thank you
