Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This exact man almost lured me into signing a contract for one of my clients who is a singer. He claimed that he has years of experience and education in the area of musical studios. It turned out that he runs his operation out of his garage and basement with equipments that are definitly not studio grade equipments.

The guy is a fraud and will try to get your business anyhow possible. He promised best results but lacks the basic knowledge of how recording industry works. Ray Wilson thinks he is a big shot with a website and a charity computer that was given to him which he uses in his studio. This man makes me sick and I regret paying him the $150 which he was begging for.

I am currently using this facility for recording and mixing and working with Ray Wilson, and I was shocked to see this. Not only is this complaint NOT true. But, it is amazing how easy it is to post slander on any website. I'm dissapointed in the liar who created this and the creator of this website for making it that easy for any one to post something.

Maybe I will post a Ripoff Report about Ripoff Report, since it's that easy.

P.S. It says this person is from Pickering(Toronto) Ohio. Don't you find it weird that a person from OHIO is recording with someone in ONTARIO CANADA.

Ray Wilson's Studio Is Amazing!!

I have no idea what this girl is talking about, but it sure sounds that this complaint is extremely personal. Ray's studio is very professional and he has personally spent over $100, 000 at Long and Mcquade towards his studio. He has recorded countless musicians over the years including juno award winning artists Sam Reid from Glass Tiger!! He has always been extremely nice and offered great customer service as well. Also what does this girl expect for $150? A full professional production suite? $150 will get an artist an hour, maybe two, at a good studio.

If one analyzes the complaint deeper, it is easily noticed that the poster knows very little about how studios work. Let's take a look at this statement here:

"He claimed that he has years of experience and education in the area of musical studios. It turned out that he runs his operation out of his garage and basement with equipments that are definitly not studio grade equipments."

Many high end studios are run out of garages, in fact the Foo Fighters' latest release was recorded in Dave Grohl's garage using old tape machines. The fact that Ray's studio is in his home does not reinforce the poster's statement of him being a poor recording engineer. They offered no contructive criticism on how his recordings were bad, and they also do not mention what gear was being use. In general this poster does not sound like they know very much about recording studios, so should we taking their advice on what is truly "studio grade equipments?"

Here is a second statement we could look at closer:

"He promised best results but lacks the basic knowledge of how recording industry works."

Obviously this person knows very little about recording/mixing/mastering, because it has absolutely nothing to do with the "recording industry". Some of the best producers and recording engineers in the word couldn't tell you the first thing about the recording industry. Why? because that isnt their job!! Hire an agent/manager or a mentor that works for Universal or some other record label if you want to learn about the "industry". Recording engineers focus on recording, not the business end.

And lastly lets look at this statement:

"Ray Wilson thinks he is a big shot with a website and a charity computer that was given to him which he uses in his studio. This man makes me sick and I regret paying him the $150 which he was begging for."

First, Bigshot? great constructive criticism....Second, whether or not his computer was purchased or given to him has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of his work. Would you criticize Picasso if you found out someone gave him his canvas and brushes for free? Thirdly, he makes you sick? Go see a f**king doctor then.

In conclusion I think it is quiet obvious that this girl had a falling out with Ray, or for some personal reasons things didnt go as planned. This complaint carries absolutely no validity in the fact that Ray runs a "cheap and trash studio" and i really hope this site takes it down. Just because Ray had a bad run in with a crazy a*s b***h a while ago, doesnt mean the whole internet needs to know about it.

Peace Out

The "trash" report submitted by an individual who obviously had a bad time with someone named Ray Wilson illustrates how important it is to get it right before trashing someone online.  This is obviously not the Ray Wilson of Synergy Studios in Pickering, Ontario.  Ray does a superb job, is wonderful to work with, and the finished product is amazing.  Just ask all the bands that have worked with him.  Our band is doing its second CD with him now - same experience as the first time - he is reliable and professional, cost is reasonable, and he is very easy to work with.  Ray is a consummate professional and does not deserve to be tarred with the same brush as whoever this other person is.

I urge your site to remove this critique.  There is some responsibility on all of our parts to protect people's reputations, especially in a case of mistaken identity, which this obviously is.

Hello Ms. Pamalos, Although I suspect that this is either a hoax or some bad taste on the part of a competitor, I must address these comments. For as much as this post might anger me, I'm sure we will get to the bottom of this quickly so you can remove this comment and possibly work toward finding who did scam you. Let me start with some facts: 1) My studio is located in Pickering, Ontario; not Toronto, Ohio. 2) My studio is primarily a voice over studio that just happens to be equipped to do solo acts or bands, though no solo acts have recorded to date outside of the demo writing realm. 3) There is certainly no charity product in the studio, as my friends at Long & McQuade Music Stores can attest to from my purchases over the past 5 or so years. They can also confirm that the gear is not only state of the art, but clearly listed accurately on my website. Products such as a Neumann U87 Microphone, SSL AlphaLink Madi SX, and Roland TD20 come with extremely large price tags; these three alone totalling $15,000 CAD new, and 4) I certainly don't run the studio out of my garage as the pictures on the website will clearly indicate. Moving on to your other comments, does it not seem strange to you that someone who was "almost lured into signing a contract" would actually pay $150 up front. For the record, I work on an honour system where no final product is released without payment; no up front fees nor contracts are required. Either you signed a contract and you paid this person, or you didn't. I do have many years of experience, but would never take on a job that I felt was outside of my scope of work, and would even refer that business to someone who is more qualified. I have references from companies such as Scholastic Books, Lifestyle Media, Sound Innovation; apparently my work was good enough for them. I have local acts in the Durham region such as Mahogany Ridge, who make reference to my studio on their own site. Probably most embarrasing for you, if you look on the back of some children's CD books, including "the Doodlebops - Keep Trying" and "All Together Now", you will find my name in the credits. If you ask every one of my clients, you will find that they did not pay until the work was reviewed by their producers and prepared for print. Finally, I am only asking for one thing from you; to remove this post. I have no legal team to chase you, no angry mob to send your way, and certainly no animosity. Using the internet to inflict such harm is wrong, however, and I'm not suggesting that I will simply forget about it. I will even extend the olive branch to help you identify who DID scam you, and possibly give some advice on how to get your money back. If you are a real person, I suggest that you do not pay anyone upfront (a client representative would know this) and, if you do, to keep receipts. If this is a hoax, or someone who is trying to improperly damage my reputation for some type of personal gain, I would ask that you change your direction and simply do a good job at what you do rather than slander others. I think that, if you knew me, you would probably be ashamed of your actions. I know that my family was awfully shocked to see this report; maybe you should think about that. Good luck with your quest to get back at who scammed you. My phone number and email address are on the front page of my website, so feel free to contact me if you feel the need. Kindest Regards Ray Wilson Synergy Studio
