Please do not rent from this property management company.  They are incompetent in the property management arena.  Our property management company changed in the middle of our lease to Real Property Management. 

For 2 months we were unsure who to pay our rent to because no one contacted us.  We finally heard from them and were able to pay our rent.  Whenever we called them to repair the many issues in the rental property they would come and change our locks and then leave a lock box on the property and we would have to call them to get a code to get into our home.  We have several issues with the home some were repaired some were not. 

When we were ready to leave the home.  They kept our deposit stating that there were tons of damage to the home.  We were never provided a copy of what the damages were.  When I called to ask they refused to speak with me about them but states they were keeping my deposit anyway. 

To date, we have no explanation regarding the damages to the property.  We had our attorney call and a lady named Mary Vatterott indicated to us that they would keep our money and take us to court and make us pay as much as possible in court costs.  In one word, the $670 deposit is not even worth it.  Just be aware they are horrible to deal with.  They are unprofessional and incompetent and have no customer service skills whatsoever.   A completely horrible company to deal with.  Save yourself the money and time and go somewhere else.  If you see the name Real Property Management in Bridgeton, Missouri, please go the other way!

If you haven't already done so, check out the state laws for Missouri (http://ago.mo.gov/publications/landlordtenant.pdf) regarding landlords and tenants. They have 30 days from lease termination to provide you with an itemized list of damages and an explanation of why they're keeping the deposit.

You can easily take them to small claims court for failing to do this. But you have to sue the right person. Check with your County Clerk for advice on how to do that. It's pretty simple and you should be able to get the money back.
