Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This site is selling AA and NA materials for a big profit and claiming to have 18 years in recovery. Let me tell you that AA and NA are self supporting throu our own contributions. We do not sell things for a profit and give away all we can afford to.

Do not get ripped off buying books and chips and things throu this site or any other non approved AA or NA web site, go to a meeting, theres one whereever u are look in the phone book and get the number, most are 800 numbers if u can't find one call or get too the local Salvation Army, Church, Chamber of Commerce or any city, state or local office and have them help you find us.

They will help you find where you need to go or a number to call to get a ride to a meeting or someone to come and get you, those of us who work a program know that is called service work and it is what saves our lives and someone will come and get u or find someone that will.

If you want to drink that is your business, if you want to stop that is ours. When someone reaches out for help the hand of AA or NA will reach back. Please don't think we are just another money making business, we are not, and when u reach out for help you are the most important person in AA or NA at that time....

I have purchased many items from Recovery USA. There is nothing wrong with supplying people with inspirational items. It's your choice to buy them or not. For instance, at what meeting can you get balloons with slogans on them? Or lighters? What about the people who don't have many meetings to choose from? By the way, the ORGANIZATION is self-supporting through our voluntary contributions. Recovery USA is not AA - it is a separate entity. Keep comin' back - it works if you work it.

This is an old debate - Not a rip off

This is an old debate in the recovering community. We are not ripping recovering persons off, just simply attempting to provide material that may not be available to them. 12 step programs do offer many resourses to those who go to meetings but they are limited. Many can only provide conference approved material (a very small fraction of what is available) and for that material it is always cheaper to go to a meeting to get it. But many people want more or want to read about a program before they attend a meeting. Also, there are thousands of items that help support recovery (key chains, bumper stickers, mugs ect) which are not available through 12 step groups. That is the service we provide. Recovery USA,llc also has given away thousands of coins total free to anyone who asks throughout the years we have been in operation. This debate will continue but there are 2 sides and many ways to stay sober and clean. We simply offer a choice to those who want it. Barb

Brenda I'm always amused when people like yourself decide that they are some sort of authority on recovery. You're clean, god bless you, but that that gives you no right to tell others what may work best for them. Read your comment, "If you want to drink that is your business, if you want to stop that is ours." Come on, how self righteous is that? "We do not sell things for a profit and give away all we can afford to." Anyone who has been to one meeting, knows its never "we", but "I". One never speaks for the group as a whole. AA/NA would like to believe they have a monopoly on recovery, but the fact remains, those programs work no more than 10% In regard to RecoveryUSA, llc...try going to the AA or NA site and find sober housing in a city you dont live in. Cant do it. Try to find a detox, or a long term treatment center. Cant do it. Brenda, You might try opening up that closed mind of yours and accept that other things work.
