Red Rock Financial Services placed a lien against my home because of a $78.00 debt due to my homeowners association, Eagle Canyon Homeowners Association.

The total lien was in excess of $600 based on additional fees, penalties, whatever.

To date, I have not received accounting for the fees and was really shocked to learn of the additional fees and the lien.

Wow, process is scary.  Nothing sent certified mail!!!  I found out because I was cleaning out my purse and came across bill by mistake and made a phone call... YIKES.

Dear RB,

Your post has given me hope and has inspired me to fight for my home and the saftey of my family. I am tired of Red Rock Financial services and their generic responses. They just copy and paste the same response to everyone. They do not care and they are just trying to save face. I have faith in no one else but God, and I am ready to fight against these fees that I am being charged. Thank you for standing up for rightesouness. I noticed that your report was filed about two years ago, could you please let me know the result of your case? Maybe we can help each other out. I also reside in Las Vegas, and I want to do something to get rid of the HOA completely. Thank you and God Bless.

Sincerely,

Red Rock Financial Services is committed to providing ethical and honest collection services to all our homeowners. Our efforts ensure that the homeowners in good standing do not have to pay for the non-paying homeowners; therefore, the delinquent homeowner is responsible for our collection costs and fees. Our collection fees are accumulative as we progress through the foreclosure process required in each state. These fees are charged against the delinquent homeowners. The same fees apply regardless of the amount owed; therefor, the amount that is charge per specific collection step is the same regardless of the delinquent assessment amount we are trying to recover for the association.

We send out all of our collection letters via certified mail to all homeowners to all known addresses. We encourage our homeowners to contact us throughout our collection process. Every homeowners association enacts their own collection policy that is followed by Red Rock and typically includes sending several reminder notices plus certified letters prior to a lien being filed. Red Rock is fully compliant with all laws and regulations that govern our collection process and fees. Certain states like Nevada regulate these collection fees and our collection fees are in compliant with what is specified by the State. We are one of the lowest cost providers in our industry in all the states that we service.

We understand there are circumstances and hardships especially in these difficult economic times, and because of this we have created a program called Collections with a Conscience to help homeowners who are struggling to pay their assessments. Qualifying homeowners can request a submission form for this program by contacting us at [email protected]

Please call us directly at 1-888-95-RedRock to specifically discuss your concerns and how we can work with you to resolve them.

Make sure that if you've paid off your debt to the HOA directly, that RRFS is appraised of that. They are in the habit of doing things like filing a lien on your property, even after you've paid off your debt to the HOA.

If they charged you ANY fees for filing a lien on your property AFTER you have resolved your debt with the HOA, they will hold you responsible for the fee THEY incurred with the title company for unlawfully filing the lien. Only people that complain get their accounts credited. For people that don't catch on to the error, they simply demand payment and remain hush-hush about their screw up.

Don't get sucker punched by these thugs, fight back. In fact: YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY THE COLLECTION COMPANY A DIME. Check the laws in your state, but in most cases, once you resolve your debt with your HOA, they have NOTHING to go after you for.

This is just another example of blood sucking thugs that prey in the ignorant.

Come on guys, try to be a little more real and a little less pc. I have contacted you and paid out of the nose to get my house lein removed. Still months later I can not get you to confirm payment has been received and this nightmare is over. One thing I have learned is NEVER buy a home without researching the HOA first and find out if they aer crooks and conspire with crooks. Red Rock, if you are such a reputable company why are you reported so much. I have never read a single thing about you being a good solid company. It is always, and I mean ALWAYS, a report of how you RAPED someones wallet with un-heard-of fines.

Reno and Nevada already have a bad reputation in the national media; a talk with home insurers confirms people and businesses are fleeing Reno and Nevada.  These shocking behaviors by Reno businesses give a further black-eye to Reno and Nevada which are increasingly becoming and known as A Blighted Ghost-town and State.  Red Rock Financial Services and Eagle Vanyon HOA has been notorious for years for their abuses and sewer service yet have never been held acountable for their illegal and unethical behaviors.

Red Rock has put a lien on my property. I am 4 months behind and have never really taken the due dates that serious. I typically pay it in full in December. Red Rock claims they send certified letters but I never saw one. I do know they are trying to charge me 200% fee of balance owed. I was a little amused by the "in your face" of it all. In fact I am still investigating but I believe there may be grounds to fight back. I know the law doesnt always help out when it comes to business ethics but it is gaining ground. it is time for all who have suffered to seek out legal council, as I have. We as citizens can not allow to be stepped on by corporations. If you dig, as I have started, you will find a wealth of infomation and people who will jump on the opportunity to assist you in your efforts. Time to take a stand on a company that is getting away with robbery. Threatening the shelter for you and your family. Do not let them intimidate you into pay 100's of percents above your fee. Also, as I am considering, start a petition in your HOA to remove the management company and contract with one that has better business ethics. I agree that dues have to be paid but be realistic on the process which is taken in order to collect. This company comes at you full speed and you should do the same towards them. I may spend thousands to fight a $500 charge but I will know I did everything I could to stop this injustice. Start your search in Las Vegas and your intel will start flowing in. Good luck and God bless
