Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Every other day I considered throwing in the towel and walking away, but the investment I had made kept me pushing towards something I thought was worth my sweat and tears. The promises of management, of success blinded me along my journey through hell and back. This is a very common, unfortunate situation that people encounter in Cydcor offices all around the nation. I'm here to fill you in on the things they don't tell you, so you can make a decision of your own before you get involved in the nightmare that is Cydcor.

The office I worked in, Ives Marketing, is located in Longwood, FL along with another Cydcor office, Reflection Marketing. Both work with Bellsouth. While working at Ives I learned quite a bit, like the term ?direct marketing?, better known as door to door sales. That is just what they want you to do, sell Bellsouth services business to business, sometimes traveling 100 miles or more a day, no benefits, no leads, no gas reimbursement, no expense account, nothing! Sounds like fun, right? Oh, the best part is?100% Commission! The most nauseating part about it is that this is only the beginning; Cydcor still finds a way to make matters worse.

After you somewhat get used to the door to door sales, usually by learning how to slam and cram (which is illegal), then they introduce you to the world of ?leadership? which entitles you to work longer hours and start interviewing others?exciting, huh? Oh how fun it is to show another human being, who is not even slightly informed about what they will be doing with you from 9-5?on an interview? what the business is all about! There are guidelines that are in place, however, and you are required to follow them. It is important to tell the interview that you made at least 100 bucks even if you didn't, don't even think about mentioning Cydcor, and tell them the hours are 8-6 when it's more like 7:30-6:30, and then later on (as a leader), its 7:00-7:30 at the minimum!

You should know, interviews are earned by producing the highest sales in the field from the day prior. And the great thing about interviewing is that if you can convince them to come on board (and its easy to convince someone right out of college that this is the business for them when you tell them a rookie manager makes six figures and it only takes a year to do it), then you get to train them, which gets you one step closer to management. So, if you are making those high sales, you're taking out those interviews, your painting the big picture, and you're convincing them to start and become a trainee, then you can afford to pay them out of your own pocket! Have you ever heard of a company that makes an employee pay for another employees training? One never learns of this matter until they have made it to the leadership position, basically, more lies.

The leaders run the office, the manager sits at his or, in my case, her desk where who knows what gets accomplished, probably nothing. We'd get there early to plan how we would corrupt the next group of ?new guys? that we scheduled to start that day. We made sure the music was loud, the meeting was planned and everyone better wear their happy face and ?get excited?! If you call in sick, be prepared to come to the morning meeting regardless of how severe your illness, it's not worth missing ?atmosphere? as they call it. Then there is team night (every Thursday), a night to bond with the ?new guys? and get into their heads. If you are a leader, don't even think about missing team night or you'll be sorry you did. Whatever goes wrong in the office (or on team night) it's one of the top leaders fault, most likely mine since the worst manager I've ever had in my life had me busting my a*s for her month after month, and for what? There is way too much pressure in this environment to be shady or dishonest for a person to stay sane as long as I did.

Truth being, Ives Marketing got me no where, Cydcor got me no where and trust me, they can do the same for you!!! Go to that interview, see the vision for yourself?you decide if 12-14 hour days are your style, losing contact with all those friends you use to have before your life was consumed by petty work. You decide if integrity is on your list of important qualities a company should have. Most of all? be prepared. Ask the right questions, get all the answers and don't settle for less?you owe it to yourself to find the truth.

Cydcor Offices: SEXUAL HARASSMENT and SHADY BEHAVIOR!

#2Consumer Comment

Wed, October 14, 2009

I worked LA Marketing (now The Phoenix Group) and a couple different Cydcor offices in the Hepp Org and in California. I was frequently one of the top reps on my campaign and I had a large team. I love sales and I still work in sales and business development. So why did I leave? It has something to do with business ethics.

I not going to insult the field. However, I can say that the business is not what it appears to be and I found most Cydcor managers to be nave, ignorant, and completely unfit to be running a business. After my experience with Cydcor offices and Id advise you not work there if you are a female or find any of the following behavior or scenarios inappropriate . . .

  1. A 30 something year old assistant manager sleeps with a teenage girl on his team . . . and gets her pregnant . . . about 15 feet from where the the "owner" sleeps (they mightve tried to hide that one but 40 weeks makes it pretty obvious).
  2. Your boss actually argues with you that when a girl says NO! she usually means Yes . . . and then tries to prove it to you.
  3. Your boss refers to his admin as the third base coach in reference to her sexual activity before her boyfriend.
  4. Your boss tells you, I want to f*k you!
  5. Your manager tells you that every guy in the business wants to f*k you.
  6. Your boss, while in the office, refers to a girl on your team as  c*-dumpster
  7. While trying to train the new admin she freaks out and looks up at you in disgust as a response to the pornographic photos floating across the screen of the bosses laptop.
  8. Someone you see as a mentor calls you late at night to get you to come over to his hotel room.
  9. You tell a superior you arent interested and he is then a complete d*k to you.
  10. While in the office, your boss asks you or the admin if youve ever kissed a girl. . . . then he asks you if you would have a threesome with one of the Cydcor employees.
  11. Your manager says he wants to f**k Vera (sorry, I think she deserves a little more respect than that)
  12. Your manager/owner and another manager frequently joke in front of you about one of them f**king the others admin.
  13. Another manager in your sales organization cheats on his wife with an employee.
  14. There is no HR.
  15. The punishment for sexual harassment is getting yelled at (that's how you handle it professionally  . . . right?).
  16. A manager/owner asks you for a 1 on 1 . . .  you think it is because you high rolled the office that day by making $250 . . . you then realize that he simply wanted a chance to hit on you and grope you.
  17. Your boss tells you that you should expect to be hit on at work. When you ask what you do differently that dozens of other people in the office you are told Have you looked in the mirror? You dont look like [them]
  18. The bosss response to being called unprofessional is to tell people their idea of a professional environment doesnt exist.
  19. You boss tells you that a girl who had barely sold anything during her 6 weeks of employment was allowed to stick around bc shed come to work with her shirt half un buttoned and it was entertaining to the guys.
  20. Two superiors constantly talk about implying a NO GIRLS ALLOWED rule because females are high-maintenance (all females I ever saw get anywhere were considered so).

Im so embarrassed that I was associated with these people and managers who know about this behavior and do nothing about it. Furthermore, Ive felt incredibly guilty not talking about this when I know people are constantly interviewing to work in these offices. Hopefully, this will keep other young, bright, ambitious driven and somewhat nave people from making the same mistakes I did . . . looking the other way when the above kind of behavior was happening all around me.

Furthermore, my time with Cydcor and LA Marketing taught me never to work for someone who . . .

  1. Doesnt pay you
  2. Teaches you to fudge #s in Merlin and yells at you when you do it correctly.
  3. Owes you over $1000
  4. Owes one of your guys $200
  5. Lies to you
  6. Lies to a new hire in front of you
  7. Plays video games instead of hitting the field
  8. Reads gossip columns while you work.
  9. Tells you he is hitting the field and goes home to sleep
