United States of America#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, November 28, 2012
Sorry to learn that you have joined the ranks of us that have done work for Reynolds Metering Services, Brian Reynolds, and Melissa Reynolds and have not be paid for the services provided. It seems Reynolds Metering Services has a business model built on that. Hopefully one day someone will shut them down for fraudulent business practices but until then there are a couple things you can do
Contact the Property Managers
If you had a good working relationship with the property management of the sites you were servicing, call them as ask "I was just wondering if you were happy with my services or of there was some reason I am not aware of that Reynolds Metering Services is not paying me?"Contact Reynolds Metering Services Client
The property management should be informed that your not getting paid.
Given that your in Florida, Reynolds Metering Services largest client for that region is AMS Billing. Chances are most or all of the properties you were reading were read at the behest of AMS. Reynolds Metering does not work directly for the property, instead it contracts its reading services through third party billing companies.Better Business Bureau
Most of the properties and thrid party billing companies do not know Reynolds Meter Services is
- Using Contract Labor, they think Reynolds has a vast network of actual employees, not contractors like yourself
- Is not paying the contractors they do us
Most of these companies are upstanding and would not want to be dragged in to this PR Nightmare.
File a compliant with the BBB about Reynolds MeteringSmall Claims Court
In Naples FL, where you indicate your located, Small Claims cases are legal actions filed in county court to settle legal disputes among parties where the dollar amount involved is $5,000 or less, excluding costs, interest and attorney fees.
Small Claims is a informal court that does not require and attorney, For a claim of $1,000 it looks like the filing fee would be $150. Plus process service which may require an outside company or you may be able to get the Indianapolis Sheriff to do it.
You can find out more about small claims here
While you still may not get paid, this increases the time you have to collect and increased the number of legal tools you have to pressure them with, including putting the debt on collection reports as a judgement, aetc.
