A word of caution with Dr. Romero!  Mark my words. Dont question him or mention that something doesnt look right about any injectable he has given you. Beware if you want to see him for a follow up visit and compare before and after pictures to discuss the outcome of the injectable that he performed on you.  He will become defensive, indignant and get nasty. This behavior was going on while we are viewing my before and after photos all through the visit he was stating Im the best Dr. on LI, I have hundreds of clients, I have women coming from Rhode Island, Fla from all over, I have the best prices on LI.  Like child" well than go see a dermatologist"  He was almost saying to me how you dare you question me and at the same time giving me a nasty look.  He thinks he is the almighty. Every client is different and everyone will have a different outcome. Mine happened to be a negative one.  He wouldnt let me speak or let me show him what I was concerned and wasnt happy with.  Its my right as his patient to ask questions or voice my concerns. One side of my face just didnt look right to me and this was after 2 weeks.

The 2 different injectables that I had this last visit were expensive and I let him make the decision of where to place the injectables. This was a brand new area. So it was a whole new experience for me. Lets say it was a negative one for me.  I wake every day and see my face it was not good enough for me. One side was very different from the other. I should have learned my lesson from the first time he placed juvederm by the top lip and it didnt look right.  He put pressure on the area a few times and moved it around. It was as though he didnt place any juverdern in the area. It all disappeared.  I just wasted a couple of hundred $$$. Not one positive word from this doctor as to well Im sorry that youre not happy with the outcome.  Lets see what I can do for you?  Lets discuss it. He was acting like a small child. I certainly wouldnt call that compassionate, warm, caring and concerned. I certainly wasnt asking for my money back.

He stood up and said to me you have to leave now! I have to have my lunch! He practically threw me out of his office. No one at the time was sitting in the waiting area he almost closed the exit door right on me. Believe me thats what he did to me Im serious!!  This doctor is all about the high volume of customers and the almighty dollar. When you make an apt they ask for CASH please!!! If anyone that has used Dr. Romero in the past knows exactly what I mean about how he brags and boasts about how great he is and also uses a lot of flattery while he is performing procedures. He must think women are ignorant.  Beware ladies he referred to the area beneath my nose and above my top lip as looking like a chimpanzee and the sides of my mouth as looking like a puppy. Dr. Romero humiliated me.  Who does this man think he is? He has a narcissistic personality, belligerent and is for the almighty $$$. KARMA

Wonderful Physician, Outrageous FALSE Report!

I have been a patient of Dr. Romero's for over a decade. His tireless efforts at keeping me looking young without looking like I'm doing anything have been outstanding. I have been asked to show my driver's licence many times after divulging my age. People are astonished at how young I look. My sisters are so annoyed because everywhere we go, I am referred to as the youngest sister when I am the oldest by 4 years :)

Honestly, this report offends me because it goes against everything I have experienced with Dr. Romero. I find that his forthright and honest input most valuable because he is not afraid to tell the truth. Some people's vanity cannot handle the truth. Some people will never be satisfied. Some people are spiteful and post reviews which are obviously not true. Such is the case with this ridiculous review.

Dr. Romero goes out of the way to explain everything to his patients. He shows you the brand new, unopened bottle for your inspection. He is the number ONE Botox doctor on Long Island and there's a reason for this. His skill is top notch. He even has a wonderful tool that shows him exactly where the blood vessels are on your face. I come from his office many times without a mark on my face! Truly remarkable!

I recommend Dr. Romero with no reservations. He is honest and very skillful. You will not be disappointed if you go visit him. This review is absurd and untrue. It is baseless. Do NOT factor this report into your decision to see the good doctor, just GO there!

Sincerely,

ABG

As I mentioned in my prior comment on 2-8-15 I stated I would be trying Radiesse for the first time. I went to Dr. Romero's office on 2-13-15 and received Radiesse in my jaw line. I was unsure of what area I wanted to do going in. I either wanted to do something with my under eye area (using a filler such as Voluma or Botox) or do something to kind of give my face a "lift" After speaking with Dr. Romero I felt confident that Radiesse was the right choice. Dr. Romero was very honest about explaining that Radiesse would not lift the area rather give my jaw line a more defined a square feature which is something we lose with age. I was very happy with the results as they were instantaneous. I love seeing the results right away as one of my faults is needing instant gratification! I really appreciate all of Dr. Romero's advice and guidance I always leave the office satisfied and at ease.

I have been a patient of Dr. Romero for about a year now. I have received various fillers such as Botox, Juvederm, Voluma and I'm going to be doing Radiesse soon. I recommend Dr. Romero to everyone I know, including my daughter who is now  a patient too.

Dr. Romero is very kind, caring and compassionate. He exudes confidence, and I believe that is a good thing it should put patients at ease knowing they are in competent hands. He is an award winning dermal injector and he travels the world attending conferences and speaking at conferences in regards to his field.

Dr. Romero always gives a consult before going forward with the injection. He is very honest about what is needed or not needed and what product to use, and also how much of that product to use. Sometimes I feel that I need more product, but Dr. Romero assures me that is not the case, and when I listen to him I never regret it.

I must say that it is completely off base to say Dr. Romero is all about the money because if he was he would over inject everyone and they would walk out of his office looking like a cartoon character. Dr. Romero cares very much about his patient and has integrity and morals.

Dr. Romero uses anti-bruise needles on his patients which are actually a higher cost tohim to use that is how caring and conscientious he is, so he is definitely not about the money.

The office is clean and very inviting. Dr. Romero's staff is very warm and friendly. His daughter, Janice is very knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter had a chemical peel for her acne with Janice and plans on doing it again soon. It is very easy to make an appointment which is important to me.

I have been to several other places for botox and fillers prior to meeting Dr. Romero,I can assure you he took the time time to explain what would work for me and what wouldnt, i had planned to do much more when i got there and Dr.Romero convinced me to do less proving to me that results were more important than money. Dr Romero was honest and upfront about my needs and possible reults .I have been seeing him for several years and have no plans on going anywhere else.

WHAT DO YOU GO TO DR. ROMERO FOR...? LINES, WRINKLES, OTHER FLAWS THAT YOU MAY NOT LIKE..CORRECT?

When you go to a doctor wouldn't you want the doctor to be honest with you? YES.

SIDENOTE: I have been going to Romero for eight years. He is honest, to the point and truthful.

I do not believe doctor Romero would refer to you as a "chimp" or a "puppy."

Maybe Romero who offers Juvaderm, Botox, Radiesse was just kindly suggesting that you may want to take care of some of the lines he saw on your face that you were not aware of. Maybe you didn't want to hear the truth and just wanted to get what you wanted done. I understand that but Dr. Romero is extremely honest and wants every one of his patients to leave his office feeling and looking their best and being satisfied with his services.

Your review is a JOKE to sum it all up in one word.

I do not believe you are person who has gone to Romero for a number of years but instead just had one visit with him and because you mistook his honesty as insult you come on this website and stretch the truth. DID YOU WORK HARD TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY? You could DESTROY his reputation. Be careful of what you say on the internet.

Botox Days are Special Days

#8REBUTTAL Owner of company

Dear Reader,

Once a month, usually on the last Wednesday, I offer a discounted Botox Day of only $9/unit. My regular fee is $10 per unit. This day is so popular that almost always we have to decline appointments leading to this day. I see an average of 140 patients on Botox Days, from 7AM to 9PM. We always warn patients that there may be some waiting time, depending on the time they come. And yet, every month people come in from all over: Westchester, Stated Island, Montauk, Mattituck, etc, because of the special value of Botox on these days.

We discourage new patients on Botox Days because I want to spend time explaining Botox to my new patients. For new patients, I show them the guidelines on what areas Botox is effective and how we decide how much we inject. I then take the patient to the treatment room and open and mix a fresh, genuine U.S. Botox vial in front of the patient. I explain what to look for in a genuine vial: the hologram of Allergan, the expiration date and the country of origin.

However, on Botox Days, I cannot do this routine due to the sheer number of patients. So I prepare the Botox in syringes a few hours ahead of time and in between patients, I prepare them in batches. My patients who come on Botox Days come on regular basis usually every three months. And they are aware that I pre-prepare the Botox. Thus the syringes are in a tray.

I am an Allergan Faculty and I teach the art and science of Botox and Juvederm injections to health professonals mainly on Long Island. However, I get invitations to teach as far as Connecticut.

Please come on a regular day and I will show you the fundamentals of Botox injections and then mix a fresh and genuine U.S. Botox in front of you. In fact, my methods are so respected that the President of Allergan Medical Division came to visit me at my office in March to congratulate me on my outstanding performance.

I do my very best for every patient. That fact that I do the most Botox on Long Island, the second in the State of New York and Top 50 in the whole nation speaks for the integrity and respect I offer my patients.

Thank you.

Total fraud

I totally agree with your comments.  I had Mr Romero inject botox a couple of times on my face but I made it known to him that the results were not very good.  Those botox days are just a fraud and people are so naive thinking that because he charges 9 dollars a unit they are getting a great deal.  The fact is that when he mixes the liquid solution with the white powder-like substance he has the option of mixing 100ccs the minimum or 300ccs the maximum.  The more liquid he puts into the botox bottle, the less effective it will be for the client but THREE times more money in his pocket!

I asked Mr. Romero to mix mine with 100ccs of liquid so that the results would improve and as would be expected, he simply refused to answer my request. Has anyone ever asked themselves why Mr Romero already has all the syringes on a tray ready to go on a botox day? That's obviously because he doesn't want people to see how much liquid he is mixing with the white substance in the bottle of botox. A good doctor does not ignore his patients concerns but this man is so full of himself and so conceited that I think he is over rated and people should demand that he shows them how much liquid he is mixing with the actual botox! A total rip off and frankly a fraud!

A false accusation against Dr Romero

I have happily been Dr Romero's patient for several years.

On occassion, I have inquired about certain procedures that I thought would be to my benefit and enhance my appearance.  In some instances, Dr Romero has advised me that they were not needed.

Last week, I was scheduled to have a DermaPen procedure performed on my fine lines around my eyes and mouth, but because of a recent acne breakout, he felt my skin was temporarily comprimised.  The procedure was postponed.

I was concerned and felt very badly about leaving his office with a 40 minute slot wide opened now, during which he could have been treating other patients.  He told me it was "not a problem at all" and "safety comes first".

He is not interested in "ripping anyone off".

Dr Romero  takes a very conservative approach with Botox and fillers.  With each appointment he carefully studies the area to be treated and administers the suitable amount so the result is totally natural looking.

I have never felt rushed or hurried along by either him or his wonderful staff.  I have always been treated with dignity and respect.

To the patient who filed this complaint...If your goal is to have an exess of Botox and facial fillers that you eventually start looking like a comic book or cartoon character, there are many people who will help you achieve that look.  They will gladly take your money and probably laugh at you to themselves as you walk out their door.

Dr Romero is a man of integrity and has a high standard of morals.  He is a master and an artist at his profession.  He is a total gentleman and a scholar.

I have been Dr. Romero’s patient for several years now. He was highly recommended to me by one of my good friends.

Few times in the past I was treated by another physicians to do similar injections (fillers) but I find Dr. Romero’s skills far superior to the other doctors.

Before he administers the injections, we talk about the specific areas that I want to be treated for and always take his advice to achieve the best results.

He and his staff is ALWAYS very cordial and accommodating, treating everybody with the most respect.

I was NEVER asked for a cash payment. Karma’s statement about pushing for a cash payments is absolutely not true.

This complaint about Dr.Romero is very difficult to believe and her credibility is seriously undermined…

I have been a patient of Dr. Romero for over 12 years and my mother in-law has been as well. I used his office for weighty loss( no longer available) and both Botox and juviderm. Dr. Romero is a kind and companionate man. I have no idea why anyone would see him in any other way.  He is an attentive man and kind as well.

Fillers such as Juviderm can only do so much without making you look ridiculous. If you want to go out of there looking like Kim Kardashian on the first visit it's not going to happen without spending a fortune. You start small and add gradually until you get the desired effect. By doing this there isn't a drastic change that would draw attention. People tend to overestimate what these fillers  are able to correct or change.

i will continue to visit Romero clinic. I've gone to the plastic surgeon and payed double and it wasn't worth it!

Some people will never be happy no matter how much effort is made on their behalf. It is sad to see such a wonderful doctor portrayed this way. Dr. Romero takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist. Chronic complainers, especially where their appearance is concerned will not be happy no matter how much work is done or how good it is. Here's a tip: if you are a 50 year old chronic smoker who lies in the sun 24 hours/day, a few shots of Botox will not make you look like a 20 year old. Expectations must be reasonable. You cannot erase all of your neglect with a few injections.

Dr. Romero has several thousand patients. Yet, there are few complaints about him and they always seem to come from people who keep trying to make him inject them with tons of fillers and/or Botox. Dr. Romero will NOT make you a freak! He does not do that. Some doctors will turn you into a chipmunk if you ask them to. If this is what you want, go somewhere else. Dr. Romero is constantly going to seminars to keep up on the latest trends and he also shares his knowledge with other doctors.

I have had wonderfully natural results from my visits to Dr. Romero. I get compliments everywhere I go and nobody has ever asked me if I've had work done. Completely natural. Of course, I do my part with anti-aging serums, I exercise, eat antioxidant rich foods and stay out of the sun. You must understand that staying young is a full time effort and your lifestyle must support Dr. Romero's work.

Dear Reader,

I am sorry that this patient did not see how I was protecting her and my other patients. Many come and want dermal fillers all in the around the nose and the mouth. I caution them against this because it will protrude the mouth area creating a "chimpy" look. Others want to eliminate the naso-labial fold entirely, even worsening the situation.

I often suggest that lifting the cheeks (cheek augmentation or liquid facelift) will achieve a more natural look. This achieves three things: lift the jowls along the jaw area, reduce the nasolabial folds and re-volumize the cheeks.

In my way of dissuading patients from overcorrecting the nasalabial and oral areas, I tell them that I do a lot of dermal fillers, to convince them that most women prefer a natural look. It was not my intention to call anyone names.

I have injected Botox and dermal fillers at no cost to the patient when it obviously was a lapse on my part. However, some patients have the mistaken notion that they have to be perfectly symmetrical to have a good result. No one is perfectly symmetrical, not even celebrities after their surgical or cosmetic procedures. When the difference in symmetry is miniscule, it is more perilous to try and correct it because it may cause a "running after your tail" correction. It can cause a never-ending attempt to achieve perfect symmetry.

I have 6000 patients at this point and I do not pretend for a moment that I can be the perfect doctor for each one. However, I treat each one as I would my sister, mother or grandmother. That includes requests which I think are over the top of cosmetic ethics. I have refused many requests to add more volume to the cheeks, lips or nasolabial folds.

I spend a lot of time explaining procedures to my patients. I show everyone that I only use U. S. products: fresh, genuine and pure. I spend a lot of time for follow-ups. I try very hard to stay within the bounds of what is cosmetically and ethically acceptable.

My office closes between 12 and 1 each day to allow me and my staff our vital nutrition and rest. The writer makes it seem that I threw her out of the office. I explained in the most polite way that I had to start preparing for our office to reopen at 1 PM, and that it was almost 1 PM.

I always do my best but my best is not enough for some patients. When I suggest that I may not be the right doctor for them, it is part of that good intention. What they desire is simply beyond my capabilities or training.

Sincerely,
William H. E. Romero, MD
