Rove Pest Control is a SCAM BEWARE!!

it was April and we had Wasps. My girlfriend had done some research and when she made the initial call she specifically asked to make sure there was no contract, this was to be a single service. Oh yeah sure the guy replied on the line, the appointment was made with them knowing she wouldn't be present and that I would be. The PEFECT SET UP for their ploy. Some guy shows up and performs what they call a treatment to the house after I explained the wasps were on the garage. He seemed irritated that he would have to perform my request to treat the garage.

The whole thing took maybe fifteen min. He finishes up hands me a paper and says sign here inital here and collects my check, never removing his sunglasses or saying his name. We went on vacation and upon our return I find another treatment bill in the mail box. I called to ask why this would happen and that I did not want service. Some guy on the line says oh yeah you signed a contract . WHAT?? When was that explained??? NEVER!! (remember my girlfriend called and i was the one presant for the service. The classic BAIT AND SWITCH)

My only option out was to pay sixty percent of the remaining treatments. What a joke! The Summer came and went with bills showing up periodically and the same problem of wasps on the garage. I followed up with a few retreatments to try to recoop some of my expense. Come WINTER and I'm STILL getting bills for service. What Wasp lives through a MN winter??? NONE! I thought I had finished the cycle in Dec but wait there's more. It's a full YEAR CONTRACT! The service will continue after a year until a written 30 day notice of cancelation is received. I've never been so upset and ripped of by a so called business in my life.

My advise is to just buy some RAID in a can and save yourself $800 dollars worth of wasted money and time.

Hello Rove, did you read the complaint? I've stated clearly that the contract was never explained. "We strive to make communications clear, but realize details can fall through cracks" ??? a full year contrat after some one specially asks for a single service is not details falling through the crack." Your tactic is simply DECEPTION and lack of communication. "We send out multiple reminders and brief explanation of services prior to the service date to facilitate complete understanding of the timing & details of the service." This couldn't be more of a lie. Not once was I ever notified of the service time or details. It's convenient for you that you have a 3 day cancelation grace period seeing as I was completely unaware I was even in a contract until I found another invoice in the mail box for the next service that was performed without my knowledge. Every invoice I've received has been dropped off in the mail box with out me ever seeing the service. I have no way to know if service was even performed.

Furthermore I've never been offered a half off discount. The only thing that has been offered is to buy out of a FALSE CONTRACT for 60% of the remaining treatments. You have provided false statements and avoided the entirety of the problem.

This appears to be a rewording of the same situation posted from the same day. Since it is the same situation, our response is nearly the same.  We apologize for the similarities, but were under the understanding that such duplicates should not occur. 

That being said, we still would like to thank you for your feedback on your experience with our company.  We value your opinion and appreciate your business. We apologize for your inconvenience and for the misunderstanding. We strive to make communications clear, but realize details can fall through cracks. We try and stay as consistent as possible so we can minimize confusion if information is not passed in its entirety from one individual to the next in group decisions. 

In order to minimize missed information, we include the terms of the special on the advertisements, cover those same terms over the phone, and then provide the same terms in writing for each customer.  If anything does not line up from one step to the next, we encourage customers to contact us to resolve the conflict and even include a 3-day grace cancellation window explanation on all contracts set up.  

If you ever have questions about particular services, we encourage you to contact us directly for complete explanations.  We send out multiple reminders and brief explanation of services prior to the service date to facilitate complete understanding of the timing & details of the service. The winter service is a specialized treatment that targets overwintering sites of insects that utilize heated homes to complete reproductive cycles from year to year. We realize that insects such as wasps and hornets are not flying around outside during this time of the year, but we do know that these insects are not vanishing completely to simply reappear in the spring.  There are parts of their cycles that fly under normal radar unless they are closely studied and monitored. 

As part of a half off discount, there are some obligations, but we do have different options to help you fulfill that obligation.  We reviewed some of these with you several months back, but would be more than happy to go over the complete list with you again. Just contact us at the office for details. We hope that after you learn our process for pest control, you will understand the value of the services, but if you would like to try another company, we would be happy to provide you with a list of other reputable companies that also specialize in your service needs and also offer the free follow-up services you have been able to use with us.
