Roverland Parts Sold a bad engine TWICE!!!!! Internet, Internet
I purchased an engine from Roverland Parts. Upon arrival, my mechanic inspected the engine and all appeared well. He installed it and it made a horrible knocking noise. I asked Roverland to send out a replacement engine and only after the first engine was returned to then did they do that.
After the second engine was installed, it too made some noise but not as much as the first engine. I thought that it was within the range of normal.
The Rover actually ran well for a little over a month. I put approximately 2k miles on it. No problems, until one day while driving it, I had total and immediate failure.
Roverland refused to take the second engine back stating that it was installed improperly or that it was a bad waterpump or thermostat causing the engine to fail.
The engine was installed by a professional and no expense was spared in the install.
Roverland immediately defended themselves by stating that I wanted the engine installed as inexpensively as possible because I am a dealer.
They immediately assumed that the Rover was for retail and that I was a low life dealer. It is actually my personal car and one I have every intention on keeping. Funny, I have a fiend who lives locally and after explaining what happened to me, he started laughing. He also has a Rover and the engine went bad. He bought a replacement motor from Roverland and the same exact thing happened. Roverland also tried to blame him or the shop that installed it. He used a factory authorized Rover dealer. He engine also had about 55k miles on it when they sold it to him. I wonder ow many ithers out there have bought engines from Roverland only to see them go bad in a short while????
