Rug Doctor Rug Doctor Phone Support Damaged my White Living Room Carpet Plano Texas
I purchase a (used) like new Rug Doctor Spot cleaner on ebay. Model 93300 The Spray Spout that sprays on the cleaning solutuion worked very poorly. It only dripped. I called Rug Doctor to get some advice on corrective actions. The genteman I spoke with (15 March '18) spoke very poor English. He started telling me to check some tubes on the back of the machine that do not exist. This is a "Spot cleaner", not a full size carpet cleaner. He had looked up the wrong cleaner. After he had the correct cleaner he told me to remove the dirty water tank and rotate it upside down. I told him it had dirty water in it and he told me again to rotate it upside down. All the filthy water dumped on the white living room carpet. I sent in an email to Rug Doctor and what came back was apparently a pre-formatted message thah said my machine was out of warrenty and I could pay to ship it back and for repair.
Indeed this maching might be out of warranty. But as I never gave them the Serial Number or purchase date, it would be hard to determine if it was out of warrenty!
Rug Doctor refused to accept any responsibility for their Service Representive and told me "out of warrenty" without having sufficent information to determine if this was correct.
I can not recommend this company as they do NOT stand by their product or their Service Representive.
