Yesterday a friend called and told me there was an issue with tax returns filled on Taxbrain using SBT for funds transfer.
I went on the internet and found out that a large number of the refunds were sent to Republic Bank in Kentucky instead of Santa Barbara Bank. I called Republic Bank and they told me my refund had been sent to their bank and would be sent back to the IRS next week. They told me I could not get my refund from their bank and the IRS would issue a paper check in 4 to 6 weeks.
Needless to say I AM LIVID!!! My family has used TaxBrain for the past 5 years and they convinced me just this year to use the service.
What probably upsets me more than anything is the fact that no one from Tax Brain or Santa Barbara Bank contacted me. I called Tax Brain and no one answered, I emailed them and they refered me to the IRS. I called Santa Barbara Bank and they refered me to Tax Brain. Everyone is passing the buck. No one is trying to solve the problem or explain the situation to the customers. It is now 2:35PM, Saturday, Janurary 30, 2010 and I have not gotten even an apology from either company. Tax Brain And Santa Barbara Bank are the WORST!!
