My wife and I received a suspicious pink letter titled "Response To This Notice Requested”. It supposedly claimed that the vehicle we bought was out of warranty. We called the toll free number to understand the nature of this letter. In addition, upon speaking to John he claimed that we needed to pay $168.68 to continue coverage for the core parts of the vehicle. I said I will call back after checking our warranty coverage documents and called the dealership too. Once we did the reps there confirmed this was a scam and to disregard the notice. So, today I am alerting people of this and we live in Minnesota. I am wondering if others have received similar letters in the mail.

If one falls for his scam, what would be the best course of action to prevent a victim from getting charged?

Everyone is getting these scam letters in the mail trying to get you to buy their fake warranty for your car. Please don't call them or give them any of your car or personal information. Just contact the FTC and put the information in a complaint to them.
Trust me the FTC has gotten thousands of complaints about this scam compamy.
