I entered a one-year contractual agreement with Sauer Properties in Van Nuys residential area for their 7416 Woodman Ave residents. Not the greatest area, but it was cheap compared to the other places; boy I was wrong!
Upon moving in, many nusiance problems persisted: repeat meth addicts would crash the laundry room (in one instance, broke down the door, wrestling with the security guard until pepper sprayed and fled on foot). One of the nusiance was a former tenant, Chris who was banned from the residents. He still comes back close to every day even though he was permanently. His erratic behavior can only be ascribed to his meth escapades -- rendering his ramblings to that of some sort of biblical stoner. He made no sense and would sometimes get angry at me for no reaosn.
Sauer refused to do anything other than send over their "independent contractor" security guard once in awhile. That is not sufficient, as the building is virtually open for all access to vagrants, drug addicts, etc. Sauer Properties should just roll out the red carpet, because nothing except are own apartment unit is secured. No cameras, no locks on the front building, and no security manager (as required by law in residential facilities that have sixteen or more units).
There were many defects in are apartment, too, but fortunately for us, they are not completely incompetent; however, it still took time out of my day to get it fixed for the following:
outlets, unplugged tub; fixtures in the fans; sink not working, no hot water, unstable step on staircase, etc.
Also they gladly glean the RSO/SCEP fees, yet they do not post the oridnance in common areas as required by law.
The real issue is that Sauer refuses to fix the laundry room door and secure the building so I can enjoy the property unencumbered. Plenty of times I encountered vagrants sleeping in the laundry room or shooting meth that poses a general danger for the public! Also they refuse to clean the laundry room as well!
THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU RENT FROM THEM. SLUM LORDS, THEY ARE! SEE THE PICS!
