July 29, 2012, I paid $299 for a voucher for a 4 night stay at the Caracol Eco Resort in Cancun, Mexico. I purchased this voucher through Saveology. The voucher stated I had to make my reservations through Mar y Sol Vacations.

On November 16, 2012 I called the phone number on the voucher for Mar y Sol Vacations and the person who answered had no idea what voucher I was talking about. She said she does book these types of vacations/resorts but she had never heard of Saveology. She kept asking how I got her phone number and I kept saying it's on the Saveology voucher. I finally emailed the voucher to her so she could see it for herself.

The person I spoke to at Mar y Sol told me she could not honor the voucher becausue she was not contracted with Saveology. She was however contracted with other deal sites and if I wanted she could book me through one of those sites and it would cost me $399. Not sure if this was a bait and switch or if she really doesn't know who Saveology is.

I called Saveology customer service and spoke to a CSR (Juan) who told me he didn't know why the reservation agent told me this but he would open an investigation in to this and after several questions he gave me a case # and told me someone would call me in 48-72 hours.

Over a week went by and I had not heard from anyone so I called back on November 28, 2012 and spoke to another CSR (Giani) who apologized and said no one had looked in to my problem so he was going to get the Merchant Services manager to take care of it quickly. Later that day Giani even called me to ask if it was OK to have the Merchant Services Manager call me on the phone number I had given to him. I said yes. And yet no one ever called me back.

After another week or so I called and was on hold for 58 minutes. I finally gave up and left a message on the voicemail. I immediatley sent an email to their "press team" saying if I didn't hear back from someone I was going to go my local new stations consumer investigations reporter. That will normally get a company to respond since they don't want bad press. But apparently bad press does not matter to Saveology.

I have requested my local new station to investigate this and hopefully they can get my money back but right now I don't hold pout much hope. Looks like Saveology is just a bunch of scammers. Please don't fall for their "trap" of good deals.
