Signed up for ScoreSense looking for differences between FreeCreditScore.com (previous), CreditKarma.com (current and still current), and ScoreSense.com. Forgot to cancel ScoreSense and was charged $29.95 from my bank account.
Called to cancel and the guy tried to talk me into keeping my account and even offering a 70% discount (down to $12.95). Asked me the first time if I wanted to keep my account. My response: "No... I'll go ahead and cancel." A second time: "No thank you. I'll still cancel." A third time when he added that he'll keep my account open and gave me a deadline of hte 23rd to call back and let them know I'll keep the account open: "No... I'll still cancel."
I hope they don't charge me the $12.95 on the 24th or I'll be a pissed off consumer.

ScoreSense 'gives' you the trial period and then continues to charge you monthly, as you found out. However, what you might not know is that the credit score provided by ScoreSense has no bearing on the score that the lenders use to determine your credit worthiness. Their score is not even calculated with the same formula lenders use. Lenders use a FICO scoring formula to which ScoreSense doesn't have access. FICO scores are propriatary. In order to be a FICO score it has to actually have the FICO label. The only thing ScoreSense is good for is throwing away your money. The 'advice' ScoreSense gives doesn't even help your credit score and in some instances can actually hurt your score! Don't waste your time or money on a ScoreSense score.

Got an email about 5 mintues ago after I said I want to cancel my membership:
"Dear James,
We appreciate your continued membership with ScoreSense and are pleased to offer you the same great features at a new, low price. Going forward, your monthly membership fee will now be $12.95."
What the hell?
Then I was offered a lower price of $3.95. Don't make me call back again!
