A couple of years ago, I saw the ad with Tom Bosley about SMC. I am a single parent and always looking for ways to increase my income to support my family. And who wouldn't trust "Dad" from Happy Day's?

SMC offered a money back guarantee to try their program, so I thought...how could I lose if I could get my money back if the program was not for me. So, I put the first payment on my debit card and ordered the program.

When it arrived a few days later, I took the time to read all of the materials and the different ways to promote their products. Some of the products were of what appeared to be good quality and I am sure there is some type of market for some of them.

However, after studying everything, I decided this was not the program for me. A few days before the final return date, I repackaged everything they had sent me including the catalogs and took them to a local business that shipped UPS. They were sent back with a delivery date well before the deadline.

The following month...I received an invoice for my next payment. I called to inform them that I had returned all materials and cancelled the membership. They told me that I would have to have the original return receipt to prove that I sent it back or they couldn't cancel it. I was told this was standard procedure. There was no mention of this anywhere in their materials.

My problem was that my purse had been stolen and the receipt was inside. I asked if I could get a copy from the shipping site and they said no it had to be the original. I informed them that it wasn't possible and I no longer had the catalogs or materials to sell, so I would not be paying for the balance because I had no way to recoup the money spent.

I did receive another invoice and then I did not hear from them for a very long time until two months ago when a collection agency began calling trying to collect the balance due SMC! I have not ever received any more materials from them...no updated catalogs or support information yet they turned me into collections!

As far as I am concerned, once they have you signed up...they are not going to let you out of it. DON'T SIGN UP! I will not pay the balance...no matter what. I feel ripped off and now am very skeptical of all businesses of this type.
