SouthEastern Family Publishers - S.E.F. Publishers - S.E.F. Publishers Marketing Service Ripped me off 2 years after I paid them off! Bradenton Florida
I agreed to get magazines from S.E.F. Publishers in 2004. I hardly ever recieved my magazines but always paid up. I figured if I was stupid I should learn my lesson and pay for it. I was 20 years old and had gotten my first credit card and gotten a little carried away so I figured it was my fault and I should pay for it so I did.
I paid this company off in June or July of 2006 I have the final payment of about 250 dollars in my checkbook. So I know I did. I figured I'd just pay them off and be glad that I was done with it.
Well I go online to check my credit card the other day and see this charge for 138 dollars from SEF Publishers and the same day recieved a letter saying, "Hello SARAH this letter is in reference to your cancel fee which was way overdue and was in the legal team department. We have tried to reach you by phone to settle the debt of $138.00 with our company. This payment did pay you off in full and cancel you out of the contract with us. THANK YOU SARAH. HAVE A GREAT YEAR.... Judy Nye (941 301 6862) ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT"
How do you get a canel fee after 2 years?? When I talked to the man on the phone in 2006 to pay them off he said I was paid off and done with them. And I would also like to know when they tried to contact me by phone since I have the exact same phone number I had then and I have not missed any calls?
I have contacted my credit card company and my bank to make sure these charges will be removed and signed an affidavit for these charges so we'll see what happens. I tried to reach the company but they never answer the phone when I call. . but I'd rather deal with it through my bank since I've read what happens when you call from these people.
