Sports55 Charged premium money for a poor quality product Internet
I initiated an order with Sports55.com on 2/24/11. The purchase order was placed on 3/7/11. Orders are promised delivery 4-6 weeks after the PO date. We received our items 9 weeks later. I am not filing this complaint because of late delivery. I understand it is an estimated delivery date. I am filing this complaint due to lack of customer satisfaction. On Sports55's website they claim to " take pride in all products sold at our site. Our apparel is of the finest quality with absolutely no seconds or irregulars. ". Here is the link to that claim :http://sports55.com/store-policies.html I was surpised when I received the jerseys that the quality was so poor, you could actually see thorough the jersey when you held it in the light. It seems as flimsy as a cheap ,polyester scarf. Some of the stitchwork is crooked and threads are hanging out of various stitches. One jersey had a small black dot that seemed to be a stain of some sort, an ink stain. We paid $47 per jersey. We expected quality that rivals Nike or Under Armour. I put on my jersey this afternoon to play ball for an hour. When I came in, my wife noticed that some threads were coming off from the number on the front of the jersey . At that point I said to myself I have to make a claim and try to get compensated. Sports55.com is lacking in customer service and takes shortcuts in quality. They were very happy to charge my card over 1k and not ship for another 8 weeks. I want them to realize they should not be promising great quality and delivering cut rate jerseys. I want them to refund at least half of the purchase price so we can use the money towards new jerseys for next year. All my teammates agree that these jerseys are not sturdy enought to last the whole season through playing and washing machines. We all agreed to go into a local shop next year and examine a sample jersey to see exactly what we are getting. I don't think these jerseys will be in good shape by the end of the season. We were hoping for a thicker, more sturdier jersey. When I asked the rep about this, he said that they actually get similar complaints. He then went on to say that they sell a better quality jersey for the same price. He didnt mention that to me when I was ordering! I hope Sports55 stops their practice of advertising high quality jerseys and delivering cheap, polyester wash cloths. I hope this complaint will be the first step in this process and provide me with some compensation for their sub par business practices.
