In January of this year I placed an order with Sportsman's Steel Safes for one of their 1/4 steel gun safes. The salesman gave me a time frame of four to six weeks for my safe to arrive. After paying $3163.95 and waiting two full months I still didn't have a safe. I again called the salesman in their Houston, TX store he told me there had been a minor delay and that I would have my safe in two more weeks. Well I waited three more weeks and still no safe. I called the salesman again. I was told my safe was in transit. I waited and waited and waited yet still no delivery. I can understand different occurrences happening, but when I've spent that kind of money I DON'T appreciate lies and balderdash! I don't deserve any one blowing smoke up my backside and telling me it's a gentle gulf breeze. Now it's May, I called the Los Angeles factory directly. I was referred back to the Houston store. I refused to be shuffled off again and finally got to talk with someone there. Supposedly they've had some personnel problems, problems producing the safe I ordered and paid for, yada, yada, yada. They hadn't even started making my safe! They apologized (yeah right) they informed me that it would take two weeks to build my safe then three more weeks beyond that to ship it to me. I told them no thanks just refund my money I'll find another. I was told that my refund was supposed to show up after midnight May 6, 2009. May 7, 2009 upon checking my account this morning I find no evidence of my refund! This company displays a Better Business Bureau symbol on their web site. In my experience to date they do NOT follow good and honest business practices. I caution all potential customers to be very wary dealing with this company. I've also talked with Ft. Knox safe company. They can get a comparable safe to me for less money in three days after I pay for it. I'm STILL WAITING to receive my REFUND from this company so I can order a safe from Ft. Knox!

Kevin Hand, VP Pentagon & Sportsman Safes 6311 Paramount Blvd Long Beach, CA 90805 Response to Ricardo From Mexico's Fraud Claim: "Ricardo From Mexico" custom ordered $50,000 worth of gun safes from our company in 2004. He planned to open a safe-selling business in Mexico. We finished Ricardio's safes and called him to view safes. Upon arriving, I learned Ricardo was apprehensvie in paying his balance. Several weeks later he called and stated he wasn't starting a safe-selling business in Mexico anymore and wanted his $25,000 deposit back. I told Ricardo we completed his 50 "custom safes" and reminded him on his no cancellation policy. His paperwork even stated there were "no cancellations..." I was stuck with 50 custom built safes. To this day, Ricardio still owes US $25,000 for an unpaid invoice. We had to eventually resale his safes, some for a loss. Since they were painted odd colors, white, green, blue, etc, we had to repaint some of the safes and reconfigure Ricardo's custom built interiors. We lost thousands on these safes! He really did a number on us. For him to accuse us of fraudulent behavior is sad. If he'd like to honor his original sale's contract, I will apply his monies toward the purchase of new safes, plus our losses and steel increases. Please have Ricardo contact us if he wishes to honor his orginal sales agreement. Thank you for this report. It allows us to response to fradulent claims against our company. By the way, Sportsman Steel & Pentagon Safes have accounts with the FBI, DOJ, Homeland Security, Secret Service. These clients have zero complaints against us to date. kevin f hand, vp pentagon - sportsman steel safes 800 266 7150
