Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In November 2004, my girlfriend and I went to the Radio Shack down the street to see if we could get cellular phone service without putting any money down. They told us that they could give us phone service as well as 2 free telephones. So, we signed the contract and walked out with our phones.

I thought that it was great that they could help us out. On the outset we did not have any issues with the service. We were very happy with our phones and the service.

Beginning 2005, we began experiencing the following: 1) dropped calls, 2) one of us would call the other, but the other's phone would not ring, 3) a call would come in but we were not able to answer it, etc.

Each had called customer service several times. They told us that our phones had been updated and that there was nothing else that they could do and that we needed to go a Sprint store.

Today (July 22) we went to pay our cell phone bill and figured that we would speak with a representative there. "Buddy" (I don't think that was his real name.) told us that we needed a software upgrade. So, we left our phones confident that Sprint would take care of us.

When I went back into the store to pick the phones up, Melissa brought the phones to me. Melissa told me that they could not perform the software update because the port on the primary phone was damaged and the secondary phone could not find a signal.

Both "Buddy" (when I spoke with him first) and Melissa (when she brought the phones to me) told me that the reason that we were experiencing dropped calls was that our phones were discontinued, that Sprint had put up new towers, and that our phones could not receive the necessary updates.

Due to the poor service that we had been receiving, neither I nor my girlfriend wanted to deal with Sprint any further than the end of our contract, December 15. In order to upgrade the phones it is necessary to sign on for 2 more years. This was out of the question.

In conclusion, we left the store with no resolution to our issue. Our phones are discontinued. We will continue to experience dropped calls until the end of our contract.

It is possible that I am being naive. But, I think that for the amount of money that we have paid into Sprint, we deserve better service.
